If Recruiters Had an Emoji for Every Situation: 😀 – When you finally get a candidate to respond after 3 follow-up emails. Victory! 🤔 – Reading a resume that lists "Proficient in Microsoft Word" as a top skill in 2024. 😐 – When the hiring manager changes the job requirements again after you’ve shortlisted candidates. 🙄 – Getting ghosted by a candidate who was "so excited" about the role last week. 😭 – When you see another LinkedIn post saying "Why do recruiters ghost candidates?" (It’s not us, it’s the process, I swear!) 😱 – When a candidate shows up for an interview without 5 follow-up reminders. Is this a dream?! 😎 – Closing that difficult role after a marathon of interviews. You’re basically a hiring ninja now. 😫 – When the candidate backs out on their first day after weeks of onboarding prep. Heartbreak level 9000. 🥳 – When the new hire actually shows up on Day 1, signs the offer, and doesn’t pull a disappearing act. 💃 – When you fill the role and finally have some time to breathe... and maybe even dance a little! HR friends, what emoji sums up your life best? 😁 #RecruiterLife #HRHumor #HiringChallenges #WorkplaceCulture #RecruitmentJourney

🌟 **Recruitment Chronicles: The Quest for the Perfect Candidate!** 🌟 Ever feel like recruiting is like dating? You swipe right on resumes, ghost candidates, and sometimes end up on a wild adventure with someone who seemed perfect on paper but turned out to prefer “working from bed.” 😅 Here’s a quick rundown of the recruitment journey: 1. **The Application Phase**: Like swiping through profiles, you’re looking for that spark. “Ooh, they have a black belt in Excel! Swipe right!” 2. **The Interview**: Gathering your courage to ask, “What’s your greatest weakness?” while silently praying it’s not “I’m allergic to teamwork.” 🙈 3. **The Offer**: Sending that offer letter is like asking someone to be your official plus-one. “Will you accept this invitation to join our team?” 4. **The Onboarding**: This is like the awkward first date where you hope they don’t spill coffee on themselves while trying to impress you. ☕ So here’s to all the recruiters out there—may your coffee be strong, your candidates be perfect, and your hiring process be as smooth as a well-rehearsed elevator pitch! 🎉 #RecruitmentHumor #HiringAdventures #WorkLifeBalance

I was 𝐆𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐃 today by candidates, not once, but twice! A hiring manager on my team was 𝐆𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐃 today, too. 😮 😬 The time I had set aside could have been used to screen other candidates, and the interview slot with the hiring manager could have gone to another applicant. Let's address the elephant in the room: 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐠𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐨! Having been both a candidate and a recruiter, I know firsthand what it feels like to be ghosted or have a negative candidate experience. That’s why I pride myself on being the Recruiter I’d want to have if I were job-seeking. Let's break this 𝐆𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 cycle - it ain't cute or funny! Whether you're a candidate or a recruiter, clear communication benefits everyone. A quick message to say, "𝑰 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒍 𝒐𝒓 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒍𝒆" is all it takes. PS: I scheduled 2 candidates for interviews later this week and 1 of my other candidates is advancing to a second interview. PSS: 𝐈 𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐆𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬! #recruiter

𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗡𝗼'𝘀: 𝟴 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗚𝗣𝗧 𝗥𝗲𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁𝘀 🤖 Ever been ghosted? It stings, doesn’t it? Especially after pouring your heart into job applications, acing those nerve-wracking interviews, and then... silence. 🫠 Nothing fizzles the excitement of potential candidates faster than the echoing void of uncertainty. It’s a tough world out there, and leaving candidates hanging without any notification is cruel. "𝘉𝘶𝘵, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸, 𝘐'𝘮 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘺 𝘢𝘴 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴, 𝘸𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴, 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘥-𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘺 𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥, 𝘫𝘶𝘨𝘨𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘷𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴... 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘸, 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵? 𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘨𝘰 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 '𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘪𝘵' (𝘶𝘯𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘐 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘵)." Ladies and gentlemen of the recruitment club, one more reminder for you: feedback matters! ☝️ Every candidate who takes the time to engage with your hiring process deserves the courtesy of a clear, concise, and respectful closure, even if it's a no-go. Not only does this help maintain your reputation as a stand-up recruiter AND a decent person, but it also keeps the door open for future opportunities with candidates who, today may not be quite right, might be the perfect fit tomorrow. I've whipped up a list of AI-powered prompts to help my fellow recruiters craft rejection letters that are as professional as they are polite. Use them and never leave a candidate in the dark again! *A TOUGH CALL, BUT NEEDED* Sometimes, we need to make a call that we don't want to make. The candidate has spent time learning all about the client, taken the time off for an interview, and spent money on travel to get there normally (if they're not within walking distance). They've invested a considerable amount of time in the process, so it's only right that you give them some form of feedback, be that good or bad. They may not be happy with it if it's a no, but imagine how they'd feel if they never heard from you again. If the reason is that your client's hiring manager hasn't given you as the recruiter any feedback, you need to have a chat with them as they probably need to communicate better. In this industry, communication is everything. If you're lacking that element of your game, do better. Have a great day everyone! #recruitment #recruiting #rec2rec #newopportunities #recruitmentproblems

🚨 𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐆𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 🚨 Ghosting has become a common (and frustrating!) part of the hiring process for both recruiters and candidates. Whether it’s a candidate who disappears mid-interview process 🕵️♀️ or a recruiter who stops responding after the final round of interviews 🙅♂️, ghosting leaves both sides feeling let down. 𝐒𝐨, 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧? 🌀 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐦: Sometimes, recruiters have too many candidates to manage, or candidates are juggling multiple offers. ❌ 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐚𝐝 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬: Avoiding uncomfortable conversations (like delivering rejections) can lead to radio silence. ⏳ 𝐔𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬: When there’s no transparency around next steps, people disengage. But here’s the truth: Ghosting damages reputations and relationships 💔—and it can be avoided! 🔥 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: Set clear expectations 🗓️ Communicate regularly, even if there’s no new info ✉️ Be transparent about decisions, even if it's a no 🚪 🔥 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬: Be upfront if you’re no longer interested 🙋♀️ Respond to updates, even if you've accepted another offer 🎯 Keep communication professional, always 🤝 Respectful communication goes a long way in building lasting relationships in the talent market! Let’s ditch ghosting and keep the conversation going 💬💼 #recruitment #talentacquisition #communication #careergrowth #recruitroundup

To Recruiters and Candidates: I wanted to share a story about my latest interview process with a large organization (60+Billion). I applied to a pretty high level position in the organization. I sent the recruiter a message via LinkedIn expressing my interest in the role. A week or two later I recieved a call from that recruiter. After that call within two days, a face to face intro meeting was set up with a Group CIO. That meeting was set for 30 minutes which turned into over an hour and was a great conversation. Over the next 4 weeks things slowed down. I sent a weekly note to the recruiter to which I always gave an immediate response that there were no new up dates. Yesterday I received a call that they were going in a different direction. I hear this alot, but in this situation I actually got a description of that different direction. It was one I didnt have the proper software expertise. Was I disappointed? Yes, but the communication was the best from the recruiter I had in a very long time. She could have just gone into the system and created a decline letter, but she didnt. True professionalism still exists. To recruiters, I know your job is tough, but take a minte to call and tell someone they didnt get the role. Dont ghost them. Same thing goes for candidates. Show up or cancel your interview in advance so that companies have time to adjust and find other candidates. Human interaction is a much better way to handle this. And to that recruiter I spoke with yesterday, Thank you for you professionalism and kindness! The hunt continues! Happy Labor Day weekend everyone! #Recruiter #Recruiting #Leadership #jobsearch

Relying solely on written correspondence when recruiting can cause you to miss out on great potential candidates or miss early warning signs. Here are texts from 2 separate candidates I’ve worked with: Candidate A: “Hey! Just finished my interview.. it went great!” Candidate B: “No thanks. Not looking to make a move right now.” Guess which one ended up accepting an offer. Candidate B. Texting, messaging, emailing is incredibly efficient and fast. But often it can cut a conversation too soon because you don't hear tone of voice that conveys hesitancy, excitement, curiosity, irritation, sincerity. You don't hear important words like, "however" or "unless". Does calling through a list of 30 candidates take extra time? Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely. If nothing else, it strengthens human connection and we all need more of that. #pickupthephone #manufacturingrecruiter #manufacturing #distribution
