I have recently just completed the Programming With AI – Mini Course from TCM Security taught by Heath Adams.   This course is a great introduction to how you can utilize AI and ChatGPT specifically to aid you in code creation and troubleshooting, and give you specific prompt generation ideas in order to save you time, energy, and increase precision while developing.   Some of the high points of this course were the utilization of AI as an assisting element to your code production rather than as a simple accessory tool, demonstrating how to use it to aid you in finding bugs in your code, properly refract the code to increase its functionality, and finally how to properly document and perform updates on your projects.   I look forward to the next course, and utilizing these new skills and concepts to broaden my understanding of the cybersecurity realm. #tcmsecurity #ai #chatgpt #coding #python #certificate #programming #cybersecurity #cybersecuritytraining #certificateofcompletion

An interesting article on the use of AI code assistants and secure coding. The participants were ranging from early undergraduate students to industry professionals and asked to solve six questions. Title: Do Users Write More Insecure Code with AI Assistants? Abstract: AI code assistants have emerged as powerful tools that can aid in the software development life-cycle and can improve developer productivity. Unfortunately, such assistants have also been found to produce insecure code in lab environments, raising significant concerns about their usage in practice. In this paper, we conduct a user study to examine how users interact with AI code assistants to solve a variety of security related tasks. Overall, we find that participants who had access to an AI assistant wrote significantly less secure code than those without access to an assistant. Participants with access to an AI assistant were also more likely to believe they wrote secure code, suggesting that such tools may lead users to be overconfident about security flaws in their code. To better inform the design of future AI-based code assistants, we release our user-study apparatus and anonymized data to researchers seeking to build on our work at this link. #ai #aiassistants #aicoding #securecoding #security #productivity

This was not easy for me, and not perfect also. But I used ChatGPT and Codeium to get this result. To summarize the text using SpaCy in Python, It took about an hour to put together. When it comes to learning programming, consistency is key. I didn't have the luxury of consistent practice, but nowadays, AI coding assistants make it much easier to get back into the swing of things. However, ultimately, your own expertise and input are crucial in refining the code. It's a collaborative effort between human intelligence and AI assistance.
