Scheduled a Lyft today for 6:30, driver arrived at 6:20, immediately started getting threatening texts about waiting charges... frustrating. Placed an online order for a breakfast sandwich and some coffee on my way to the train station, website said ready in 15 minutes, great! Confirmation text said 45 minutes... not so great. How many points of friction in your day are caused by a poorly planned, poorly understood, or poorly executed customer journey? How many of your customers are experiencing these little setbacks and frustrations that erode loyalty and confidence without you even knowing about it? I love technology, it's how I make my living, I could spend all day talking about technology until I die but we're wasting our time and money if we don't center the customer experience that technology is supporting in the conversation. Let's work together to make the technology we use in all our lives better because frankly it's just exhausting!

Lyft doesn't offer the Amp device or bonus referrals in the Greater Boston Area yet, but the platform brand does accept immigrant drivers carrying international drivers' licenses to start training and familiarizing themselves on driving rideshare/carpool/by-the-way/short-distance rental taxi/cab service automobiles/cars of various types (gasoline, diesel, kerosene, electric, hybrid, limos, trucks, vans, sedans, etc.) for transporting cargos/passengers on land via automobile roads. I would presume there are similar mobile apps out there for water and air based cargos/passengers transport operators of boats/ships/vessels and planes/aircrafts carrying international licenses, but it would be a much smaller niche market demand with lower frequency and much less customers with lower quantity. 😳⛔️I asked my Uber driver why does he not wear his seatbelt. Is he not concerned about his safety ?⛔️😳 Here’s what he said. I drive 200kms a day and when you drive that long, it pains to wear a seatbelt every single day. It doesn’t allow me to move and being rigid is painful. This is how Lyft ran a promotion that drove a loyal customer to Uber for 10 trips. I logged in to Lyft as soon as I landed in Las Vegas. Right away I see a promotion... a good one... 50% off my next 3 rides. When I look at the details, I see I can save up to $10 per trip. Well that's a dilemma... to maximize this benefit, I will need to only use it on trips that cost $20 or more. What can I do? That's easy... like almost all Lyft users, I do also have an Uber account! I'll use Uber until I've gone on three $20 trips. And that's what I did. I used the first free trip on the ride from airport to hotel (and then took this screenshot). After that it was Uber for the next 6 rides, one more Lyft trip at peak time on Sunday night, then four more Ubers before finally switching back to Lyft. All told, Lyft's promotion drove me to Uber for 10 rides. Not a big deal to me, but maybe unintended consequences to them.

Hello fellow engineers! I could not wait to share my exciting experience as an Uber driver last Thursday. Here is my short vlog capturing the experience: https://lnkd.in/gCWwjGYC I took a total of 5 trips and earned 735 rupees which was insignificant as compared to the 5-star ratings and priceless experience I had talking to the riders as well as experiencing the seat. Here are a five inputs I think can help: 1. Since I started getting back pain, it would be great if drivers were educated about ergonomic posture and recurring reminders to get out of the car and take a walk. A back cushion as an onboarding kit would be nice. 2. Some riders complained about drivers not turning on the AC by default, so drivers can be asked to always ask the rider preferences while onboarding 3. When wanting to park, to rest, or to do some personal work, it's difficult to find a spot from where you aren't asked to move ahead. It would be great to have a feature in the driver app that shows areas where the driver has chances of getting a parking spot. 4. The app can also have a feature to show spots with public toilets so the driver can find the nearest one when required. 5. When showing the pickup and drop addresses in the app, and sometimes the driver not familiar with any, the app should provide a quick way to show the locations on the map suggesting which side of the city the drop is, otherwise the driver might have to open maps and search, resulting in timeout and losing the trip. I have done Uber as a walker deliverer. Uber is eliminating the walker deliverer position. Uber should cover the expenses for Walker deliverers to upskill, as some like myself need to do driver's ed and pay for them to get driver's license. Uber is embracing its electronic car future but the ability of electronic vehicles to charge can affect profitability.
