So this is a design reference for Mitgo Ventures's monthly stakeholder meeting presentation... ... ... 🤔🤔🤔 ... ... ...because you can't bore people into buying your shit. I've sat through thousands of hours of presentations that made me want to put a bullet in my head. Doing the same for others would go against my understanding of human ethics. It's hard enough to look at someone's reports and try to figure out if they did a good job or not. It's pure decision-making - probably the hardest job in life. Right? Imagine how easy it would be if all the decisions were obvious or even made for us. I know more than a few people who would like that so much, they convince themselves that have no choice in all slightly-above-average-difficulty situations even though there are literally a trillion of possible solutions. "Got no choice man, gotta do what you gotta do" - and proceeds to do the dumbest shit ever with zero necessity. But we should have compassion. It's been a hard week and it's still Tuesday - cut them stakeholders some slack and at least try to make your slides 5-6% fun, okay? ...please?

🤔 Why are we obsessed with pitch decks? Here’s why: Recently, MetaDeck had the opportunity to work on a pitch deck for an exciting pre-seed AI venture, founded by an even more exciting founder– with a brilliant track record, that empowers homeowners to take care of their single largest investment– their home. It’s funny, at the start of MetaDeck’s journey people did not quite understand how we could get so excited about thinking through and designing pitch decks Every Single Day. However, I don’t understand how someone couldn’t get excited by collaborating with talented founders and literal visionaries every day, to capture and portray their brilliance in the best possible light!! What’s even more inspiring is the trust placed in us by these founders, empowering us to play and build unique out of the box decks. This approach lets us have fun and enjoy what we do, but most importantly, it lets us create decks with fresh takes that capture the imagination and ultimately draw investor attention. Let's build an awesome deck together! ➡➡ metadeck.co

Want to know the single most powerful, actionable, yet often underrated principle for startup success? It's simple: listen to your customers. 📣This is especially crucial when you're creating new products and there's no playbook for sales or product development. In the latest episode of The J Curve, I had an inspiring chat with Rafael de Albuquerque, the founder and CEO of global big data analytics company Zoox Smart Data. He shared some incredible insights on how they developed their brand new SaaS product, Zoox Eye, by staying deeply engaged with their customers, understanding their needs and constantly iterating based on feedback. If you're in the startup world, you won't want to miss this conversation. Here's a short snippet on the topic 🎥👇🏻

Thank you Valtteri and the whole The Upright Project team for the shoutout! This collaboration has indeed been really interesting pioneer work for us at Jobly.fi the past two years when we have been planning, developing and since the launch at the end of '22 together driving this impact data from financial level to more daily consumer contact point: people looking for a new job. During last couple of years there has been A LOT OF HYPE with all AI related but I truly respect the work of Upright team with this topic, as they have been training their algorithm already way before "the hype" for years with millions of data points and as the result they today have the most interesting and versatile way to measure how companies and products impact the world around us. Shaping that data to serve job seekers needs the best possible way has been really interesting task! What to think about this data as a job seeker? If one would like to work in an interesting digital services company the job seeker could run into Alma Media's open positions. Here in Alma we have a important role for society being a big and high valued employer, and having a lot of well-known large medias and services, we create and distribute knowledge across our operating markets. But creating and distributing all this knowledge requires a lot of human capital and running our services has its own impact. You can dig deeper how versatile the data is and check the impact profile of Alma from here: https://lnkd.in/dxFHuTSw I am more than glad that our world is evolving and today ~30% of gen z professionals have already quit from companies that don't take actions to issues and impacts important to them (Randstadt's Workmonitor 2024). This impact data Upright is measuring gives for example job seekers really good view of the impact their possible new employer makes to our world. And yes, as I do have this face sculpted by the finest greek artists, still being interviewed to a television documentary gives me chills. Thank you Heli Sivunen for making the interview situation so relaxed! Check out the whole story here (in Finnish): https://lnkd.in/dqCfhzry
Exciting: a new mini-documentary spotlighting Upright & our net impact mission is out today! "Groundbreaking Finnish startup quantifies the impact of companies," shares MTV Oy, the Finnish news channel. Alongside Upright’s founder & CEO Annu Nieminen, we’re glad to see our customers explain how they use Upright’s science-dictated net impact data: Jobly.fi, the pioneering job board company, responds to the rising trend of employees considering their employer’s impact on the world by integrating net impact data into job ads, shares Jesse Huusari. Aktia asset management uses Upright’s net impact data for various purposes, from reporting to creating new responsible investment products, says Markus Lindqvist. Exciting to see net impact thinking reach the mainstream – a big thanks to journalist Heli Sivunen for picking up our story! Launching a software product is both challenging and rewarding, especially when it’s built to solve real pain points for CPG founders. goCPG integrates cutting-edge AI tools to help reverse the industry’s daunting 82% product failure rate and turn those challenges into success stories. If you’re a CPG entrepreneur, if you're a challenger brand, stay tuned for goCPG - the AI-powered mentor designed to help you defy the odds and compete successfully alongside the industry’s biggest brands. Personally speaking, I am super stoked to be part of the leadership team, with founder Sachi Kittur providing the vision. And as somebody who speaks a lot about AI, and how AI is changing the CPG landscape, actually being in the trenches and seeing how AI works at the software level is fascinating.

Rally Ventures welcomed senseIP to its portfolio and shared this great conversation with senseIP's CEO, Ophir Kretzer-Katzir about the experiences that inspired him to found senseIP, how the platform incorporates Artificial Intelligence and what he does in his free time. Read it here: https://hubs.ly/Q02Qp27m0 "IP should not be an afterthought. You should know what you’re paying for, understand what you’re getting from it and ensure it makes business sense. If it doesn’t, then throw it out." Rally Ventures - thanks for the warm welcome!

Lenny's newsletter (PMs must subscribe) wrote a nice piece on ideation pivots (in early stages of a start-up) and hard pivots (in later stages), with interesting pointers on how to think about it. The common denominators which should prompt a founder to think in this direction - 1. Persistent lukewarm interest 2. Realizing it’s never going to be as big as you thought Many VCs and colleagues lacking a good pulse of what works will preach the value of persistence. Stay sharp! It's more common than you'd think, and the most interesting cases are summarized below.

Meet Philip Kriekhaus: Our Chief Chaos Coordinator & Spreadsheet Ninja🏄♂️ At Impacte, Philip is the guy who makes sure we’re not just throwing spaghetti at the wall (even though sometimes it feels like it).🍝 When everyone else is deep in brainstorming wild ideas, Philip is in the background—quietly building a 10-tab spreadsheet to show us how to actually make them work. He’s the co-founder who speaks fluent strategy and has an amazing ability to turn chaos into a step-by-step game plan. You know that moment when everyone’s lost in a sea of ideas? Philip is the guy who calmly says, “Hold on, let me show you the plan,” and suddenly everything makes sense (with charts, of course). But he’s not just about logic and numbers—he’s got a killer sense of humor, especially when reminding us that "winging it" is not, in fact, a business model (trust me, we’ve tried).😅 Whether it's navigating the twists and turns of scaling a startup or helping us make sense of data that looks like alphabet soup, Philip keeps things cool, calm, and under control. He’s the reason we can dream big and still sleep at night, knowing that there's an actual roadmap to get there. 🚀 Couldn’t imagine navigating this crazy ride without him—thanks for being the glue that holds Impacte together, Philip! #Impacte #CoFounderLife #ImpacteTeam #StartupHustle #SpreadsheetMaster #PlanLikePhilip #OrganizedChaos
