It's May 2023 and two Company Data super-fans board a battleship at NYC's BattleFin Conference... Superfan A: Sam Rounds Superfan B: Sean Saint They meet, in-line at the coffee stand (water cooler style🚰) and quickly realize they both have speaking slots that morning. 🅰️ Sam -- although incredibly chatty (if you know, you know) was feeling pretty nervous about his upcoming "New Vendor Showcase" pitch. 🅱️ Sean -- not known for his chattiness, but widely known for his thoughtful musings on Company Data, was the perfect distraction (I mean warm-up). ------------ 3️⃣7️⃣0️⃣ days later, Sam & Sean are back on the battleship. But this time, they're working together and sipping coffee at our inaugural PDL <> Battlefin booth. Here are some of my favorite highlights from this duo this past year: - Sean joins PDL in July and supercharges our Investment Intelligence vertical - Sam and the data team 3x the number of companies in the dataset (now 60MM+) - Users & signups jump 4x ------------ If you're at Battlefin 🚢 this week, come stop by, we'd love to chat! Data. Sweet. Data.

Really looking forward to meeting more data people and learning what drives them! It's been so fun moving from the arts to data.... I find that people are just as passionate, friendly, creative, funny, and enjoyable to network with. What I've learned so far: 💡 Data leaders and practitioners need to get excellent communicators at every step of the project to ensure that what is crafted is what is needed. 💡 Data folks get really excited when people use their dashboards. 💡 Data people LOVE a good challenge. 💡 Data folks are friendly and extroverted and not at all nerdy (at least if they are nerdy, I must be a nerd, too 🤓) 💡 I LIKE THE DATA WORLD! Data speaks to my analytical and practical side. The side of me that loves spreadsheets and answers.
