A mining site was facing severe backpressure issues at their tailings dam, causing frequent valve failures. The dam was generating backpressure of 40 bars, far exceeding what most industry-standard valves could handle. After several unsuccessful attempts with other solutions, they were on the hunt for a reliable, long-lasting fix. Partnering with CMO VALVES, a CMO GL DN300 valve, designed to endure the extreme conditions was installed. Despite the high backpressure, this standard 10-bar valve was strategically chosen to test its durability. The results? The CMO valve outperformed all previous solutions, lasting more than six months without failure! Thanks to the superior performance of CMO Valves, the mining site reduced valve replacements and maintenance costs, ensuring smoother, more consistent operations. Following this success, the client transitioned all their slurry valves to CMO’s XB or GL models for greater reliability.
