More and more of this will get into various markets and the burden of owning a car and having it parked kind of falls away. But how will the insurance markets deal with pricing this for any insured event. For example two driver less cars hit each other and create third party losses.

✨ First time driving in a fully autonomous car – Waymo – in San Francisco! 🚘🤖 What an incredible experience. From the moment the car arrived, I was impressed. The initials of the name on the car made it feel personal, and as we stepped in, the warm welcome and clear safety instructions set the tone. The technology really shone when we heard a police siren, and the car immediately pulled over to the side of the road. The entire journey made me feel safe and confident in the future of autonomous driving. One small caveat? The cost. Our trip was $23, while an Uber would’ve been $13. But innovation comes at a price, and I believe that as this technology scales, we’ll see more autonomous cars on the road – and at a more competitive rate. I've been trying out Waymo's driverless taxi whenever I can, and I'm interested in seeing how the technology performs in different scenarios. What struck me this time was how naturally it drove - not too cautious, not too aggressive. Check out the attached video (around 38 seconds in) to see what I mean. The car navigates a yellow light situation smoothly, just like a human driver would. What also impresses me is how Google has kept the experience simple and intuitive - from the app to the in-car interface, and even the support team. No fuss, no clutter. Just a seamless ride. It's fascinating to see the tech in action and think about the potential implications for transportation. 10 rides in, and I'm still impressed by the progress and potential of autonomous vehicles. #Waymo #DriverlessTaxi #AutonomousVehicles

I recently experienced my first time riding in a driverless Waymo. It was incredibly impressive! Waymo nailed it. Getting from point A to point B safely and efficiently is key (which it did flawlessly). What truly impressed me were the attention to details, the "small things" that elevated the whole experience. From clear communication about what to expect (the pre-ride videos were great), to knowing exactly what car was mine (the twirling "MF" lights made me feel special). It seems simple, but eliminating those "how do I...?" moments is crucial for a seamless rider journey. While in the car, Waymo did an awesome and thoughtful job of communicating its actions. Seeing what the car "sees" and receiving real-time updates ("Looking for a safe place to pull over...") builds trust and creates opportunities for delight. These thoughtful details are what differentiate a good product from a truly great one. Waymo demonstrates that autonomous vehicles are not just about the technology, but about crafting a rider-centric experience that is safe, efficient, and delightful. This is the future. We're living it—robots in action. Every morning, the Waymo autonomous cars return to this parking lot, parking themselves with ''precision. However, residents have been waking up to a symphony of honking as the cars try to park in harmony until they’re all settled in. Waymo, the self-driving car company owned by Google, actually offers a taxi service called Waymo One in several cities. You can book a ride with a driverless car through their app. It's pretty cool to see how technology is changing our lives, but it seems there's still some work to be done... Autonomous Driving - Robotaxi & more (1/3) Some brief insights from recent research excursions in China and in the US. 👉Waymo in San Francisco ➡️@Alphabet’s Waymo operates commercially in 4 cities with more than 50,000 paid autonomous rides weekly. ➡️In SF alone a lot of Waymo Taxis are operating and they seem to gain more and more public acceptance as more and more riders get used to it. ➡️ We made some real life experience tests of Waymo to analyse the progress. And we were quite impressed of the good user experience of the customer journey. (See video clip) ▶️The Robotaxi (w/o a safety driver) managed very difficult traffic situations with practically no difference to a human driver ▶️Our Waymo taxi even realized that a car on a traffic light mistakingly wanted to pull back: Waymo instantly blowed the horn and also pulled back taking rear traffic into account! 👌 ➡️Our take: Scaling of the robotaxi service will be key and not easy. Operating the robotaxis is still very expensive and there might be still some edge cases leading to severe accidents and political resistance.
