My first angel investment just got acquired. 🤠 3 years ago, in one of our many brainstorms, my best friend Frederic "the oracle" Pullin told me that no matter what we do in life, we simply need to become great investors. That same year I met Dave McClure who told me that some of the best investors he knew were product people. As a product person, and emboldened by my new found confidence and mission to become a great investor, I proceeded to sign angel checks. So far I've signed 21 of them. It's still early though my portfolio (coin3.com) is looking pretty decent. Given how risky angel investing is, another seasoned investor offered me some great advice. He said "simply mentally mark all angel checks to 0. That way you'll be pleasantly surprised if you do beat the odds." At this stage, all I can say is that I look forward to writing many more humble brags of this nature in the months and years to come. And congrats to this epic Icelandic trio Thorarinn, Jon, and Eythor! Another exciting customer story of data-driven success I'm proud to share. Couple of months ago, Hypsee faced a common challenge of not getting value from their data.
