Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, and more companies are known to ask this coding interview question because it tests the fundamentals by forcing you to think about: 1. String manipulation 2. 2-pointers 3. Out of the box edge cases All at the same time! I explain it all in this video on Leetode 5 - Longest Palindromic Substring. Out now! https://lnkd.in/gHnpues9

Friday Fun Post: Arguments! A client yesterday shared a story of poor customer service from Dell. He thought that perhaps the agent was enjoying being argumentative. Which reminded me about this Monty Python sketch, The Argument Clinic. What is an argument? "Taking a contrary position isn't just saying 'no it isn't'!" "Yes it is." "No it isn't!" Actually, as they ultimately explain, "an argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a definite proposition." Many of the leaders and entrepreneurs I work with use the BestWork Data instrument. Almost all of them have this critical factor (in the Working with Me coaching report): MY DISCUSSION STYLE Expect debate or discussions that may challenge my opinions or ideas because it helps me to validate the idea It must be presented in an appropriate and professional manner Important to note that lack of discussion or challenge is interpreted as agreement. As do I. I recently tried to explain this to Cary Smythe as I engaged him in debate over walking directions over his Apple Maps vs. my Google Maps. Many of us are wired for a good argument. It's not personal 😏

An incomplete list of technically "unprofessional" things that only improved my work relationships: 1. Made everyone do physical therapy with me because my back hurt. 2. Made a required part of training to go over a mistake I made, why it happened, and how it could have been avoided. 3. Tried to Venmo my boss the US equivalent of 5 British pounds based on that day's exchange rate, because we had to pause a debate and we hadn't reached an agreement. This would have been much funnier if he had seen Monty Python's Argument Clinic sketch and also had Venmo, but you can't win 'em all. 4. Showed up to meetings in a Silly Goose University sweatshirt. 5. Gave instructions followed by "unless you can think of something I forgot?" (apparently this makes you look weak and uncertain? but I figure either I can better explain why we're doing something or I did actually forget something so it's win-win.) 6. Cried multiple times on camera, usually because I was so dang proud of my team.

Brain Break Hack / Confession: I keep a tab open for a free typing test on my browser. When I need a literal minute, I take a 1-minute typing test and it resets my brain for my next task. Also gives me a confidence boost. 🤣 #stillgotit

PTCOG62 is only two weeks away, and there is a lot to look forward to. The educational and scientific sessions are filled with interesting topics (including FOSS!), the exhibit hall looks to be full and hopefully there will be some new vendors to greet and talk about interoperability. If you are aware of (or curious about) the (IHE-RO) Treatment Delivery Workflow II Profile, and interested in how one can interface to systems in the treatment room, https://lnkd.in/gG6hHymm is intended to help with the nitty gritty of implementation. Because working code examples (its not for clinical use) have always been helpful to me… It’s not “done”, but it is working, and I trust it will be useful especially to vendors of patient position verification systems and motion management (respiratory gating) systems. I’m looking forward to meeting up with friends, coworkers and colleagues in Singapore, including my collaborators on tdwii_plus_examples. For those who want to schedule time with me, please drop me a line either at my work email or on LinkedIn, or just drop by the ELEKTA booth. See you in Singapore!
