Poland is becoming really active within European Space ecosystem, as noted by Josef Aschbacher. The first mission to ISS by Slawosz Uznanski is a hallmark of those, but its worth also to keep in mind other great activities such as: - SpaceForest with their suborbital Perun rocket joining ESA Boost programme, but most importantly first successful commercial starts - Scanway Space & ICEYE aiming at joint venture to build high-resolution satellite optical systems to combine SAR & optical vision for defense purposes - Creotech Instruments S.A. leading study works on developing 2nd nanosat as a part of European Space Agency - ESA AURORA project - aiming at monitoring space weather. - KP Labs with their recent & successful deployment of Intuition-1, followed up by development of many mission critical components and systems offered for other missions and many more! It is even more exciting for me as recently Iterative Engineering managed to pave its way to this industry as well. Few weeks ago we've started works with Guiana Spaceport (CSG) and Centre National d'Études Spatiales teams on improving request management process during payload preparations before the integration with rocket and launch. #space #poland

This has fuelled our expansion in the UK, tripling the size of our team, with more set to come. The projects include a major grant to design and qualify a high-pressure variant of the RAFTI™ (Rapidly Attachable Fuel Transfer Interface) refuelling interface, set to be available in 2025. 🚀 Exciting Progress in Reusable Space launchers in Europe. The European Space Agency has published some news on the assembly & integration phase of the Themis T1H, 3rd demonstration in the roadmap launched in 2020, following achievement of T0 & T1G. The Themis T1H is a reusable 1st stage demonstrator designed for vertical take-off and landing. 📣 We are excited to announce that SPiN has been awarded a prestigious contract under the Invest element of the European Space Agency - ESA ScaleUp programme! 🎉 🛰 The programme will support the manufacturing, launch, and operation of SPiN's 3U CubeSat for In-Orbit Demonstration (IOD). 📡 This platform will use MA61C CubeSat to integrate a payload into a heritage satellite platform. 🌌 Franco-Swedish partnership reaches for the stars   France and Sweden benefit from a long-standing cooperation between the national space agencies of each country, Centre National d'Études Spatiales and Rymdstyrelsen. With France being the country with the 4th most significant #space budget worldwide (€3,86bn in 2022*), the State Visit of President Emmanuel Macron was the opportunity to forge closer links. Both countries collaboratively chose to engage their #research facilities:    🇫🇷 The French Guiana Space Centre (CSG) for launches into orbit 🇸🇪 The Swedish Esrange Space Centre (ESC) for sounding rockets, stratospheric balloons and testbed activities for new space technology   📊 Innovation in the sector will also serve to find new solutions to tackle climate change. Building zero-debris satellites🛰️ The Low Earth Orbit (LEO) environment - between 160km and 1,600km above Earth - is quickly degrading, due to a rise in the use of this part of space🌎 That is why the European Space Agency - ESA is driving a Zero Debris strategy to be implemented by 2030, co-signed by Airbus and other key European space players. Astroscale and ClearSpace Secure UK Funding for Satellite De-Orbit Mission 🌌 Astroscale, a public orbital debris removal company headquartered in Japan, and ClearSpace, a Switzerland-based in-orbit servicing (IOS) company, have each received £2.35M from the UK Space Agency to advance their satellite removal technologies. Both are working to de-orbit two U.K.-licensed satellites from low Earth orbit by 2026, using different capture mechanisms. Astroscale plans to use a magnetic capture mechanism, while ClearSpace will deploy a robotic arm. A final decision on the demonstration mission will be made in March 2025.
