Saw this posted by a fellow EA and thought it's worth a share: "Being an executive assistant isn’t as simple as it might seem. It’s not just about putting someone in the role and expecting them to figure it out. Sure, with plenty of training and time, some might manage, but not everyone has the right skill set or personality for it. The role demands handling constant interruptions, determining what truly matters when everything feels urgent, and diving into tasks you've never done before just because they need to be completed. An EA needs to know a bit of everything since they’re often the go-to person for answers. Hiring an executive assistant might not seem as exciting as bringing on a marketing or sales professional, but EAs are the ones who fill the gaps. They’re force multipliers, and those with experience can start making an impact within days or weeks, rather than months."

Do You Manage Your Property or Hire a Manager? I'm curious about your property management approach. Do you handle it yourself or hire a property manager? Self-Management: Pros: Saves money, offers control, and builds tenant relationships. Cons: Time-consuming, stressful, and needs expertise. Hiring a Property Manager: Pros: Saves time, provides professional expertise, and market insights. Cons: Costs money, less control, and finding a good manager can be tough. What about you? Do you prefer managing your properties or hiring a manager? Share your experiences!

Usually, I would say most property management business owners need an assistant around the 50-60 door mark. That is typically a great spot to get your first team member, and your first team member should be an assistant for yourself. This team member doesn't even have to be full-time. You could bring on a part-time assistant. You can have them graduate to full-time as you add more doors. But find someone who can take a bit of the load off of your plate. Having that extra person will double your capacity and free up your time to focus on more important things. If you are working on bringing on a new team member, we have some great resources for hiring. Shoot me a DM with what you are working on and let's help you build the ultimate property management team around you, the business owner.

After much reflection, I’m excited to announce that I’ve stepped into the role of Chief Revenue Officer at ElasticHotel —a company positioned to transform the hospitality industry through innovative, customer-centric solutions focused on revenue management. Why did I choose this role? ⭐ Leadership Team: the co-founders are a formidable duo able to create revolutionary products and capture the market. ⭐ Redefine Sales: I have seen my share of poor leadership and want to contribute to a new type of sales leadership: one that looks, sounds and acts differently. ⭐ Learning Opportunity: growing and scaling a sales team at an early stage company comes with a ton of exciting challenges: hiring, sales-ops, processes, methodologies, learning Italian... :) ⭐ Family Goals: my girls are now 5 and 3 and it felt like the perfect time to give them international exposure. To be closer to the core team, we will be relocating to Madrid, Spain for the next 2 years. Estamos super ilusionados! In short, this role is giving me the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge I acquired at Stanford LEAD, build a company, help redefine a vertical and ultimately focus on my greater purpose: create environments for everyone, especially moms, to thrive in their careers. And I’m hiring. If you are based in Italy or Spain and want a fulfilling sales job with a stellar team, please reach out. Here's to new beginnings!

Reflecting on My Journey: Lessons from Each Role Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of wearing many hats—from being a Project Coordinator to an Executive Assistant, a Receptionist, and even a Metro Assistant of the Station Master. Each role has taught me something valuable: 🎯 Project Coordinator: I mastered the art of juggling multiple tasks, ensuring every detail is accounted for while keeping the bigger picture in focus. It’s all about turning chaos into a well-oiled machine. 🗝️ Executive Assistant: Here, I learned the importance of anticipating needs, staying two steps ahead, and maintaining confidentiality. Supporting leadership isn’t just about managing schedules—it’s about being the backbone that helps drive strategic decisions. 🌟 Receptionist: As the first point of contact, I honed my skills in creating positive first impressions and managing inquiries with grace. It’s about setting the tone for the entire organization, one interaction at a time. 🚇 Metro Assistant of the Station Master: This role taught me the significance of safety, efficiency, and customer service in a high-pressure environment. Ensuring smooth operations and helping passengers navigate their journeys was both challenging and rewarding. Each of these roles has shaped me into a well-rounded professional, equipped with a diverse skill set and a unique perspective. It’s amazing how much you can learn from different experiences—and how those lessons can make you an asset in any team.
