LOOPER Project receives €1.7 million grant for eco-friendly paving innovation The LOOPER project, a collaboration involving Visibuilt ApS, Munck Asfalt A/S (Munck Gruppen a/s), and the DTU - Technical University of Denmark, has been awarded a €1.7 million (DKK 13,18 million) grant from EUDP - Det Energiteknologiske Udviklings- og Demonstrationsprogram. The funding aims to further develop visiBIT, a new binder designed to replace fossil fuel-based bituminous binders in pavement construction. The project seeks to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions in the asphalt industry. The grant will support laboratory testing and field trials, enabling the assessment of visiBIT’s performance and potential for wider adoption in sustainable paving solutions. https://lnkd.in/dZstZe45 #funding #nordicmade #denmark #startups #construction #trending

The very concrete that lines our cities also contributes to a warming atmosphere, which in turn leads to unpredictable and intense rain events…which in turn leads to stormwater runoff pollution and urban flooding. It’s become a vicious cycle of sorts for the natural environment. Listen to what AquiPor is doing to help solve this, as Greg Johnson joins Ross Palmer on the Future Optimist podcast!
Just had an incredible chat with Greg Johnson, CEO of AquiPor Technologies, Inc. Concrete is a huge problem for humanity. It's wasteful to create, it just sits there beyond its useful lifespan, and it interferes with the natural water table. Greg and his company are solving all of these issues, by creating a porous, sustainable concrete that lets (rain) water pass right through. This means we can collect more valuable rainwater instead of letting it run into the ocean unused. This is a very important, albeit unsexy part of building a better future! #AquiPor #EcoTech #Startup #Founder #Sustainability #WaterConservation

In our sector, not many startups make it to the TIME magazine, but now Paebbl did!!! How? By storing carbon (CO2) in building materials. It is great to see that climate startups are making more and more waves in the global innovation space. This startup, founded by Pol Knops, Andreas Saari, Marta Sjögren, is making real climate impact with their solution. This team achievement is really impressive. We see companies like Paebbl every day and they all have the challenge to prove the product, find pilot and growth funding, partner with slow corporates and governments and deal with regulations and permits not fit for purpose. This is SLOWING DOWN the growth of these kind of companies and thereby the total transition. So all credits go to Paebbl for making these waves. And we want to create the better grounds for these companies to keep accelerating.
