At da risk of soundin like a chaddiwaala, we r very fortunate 2 inherit da intellectual wealth dat we inherited. Place-value notation is a valuable intellectual inheritance we got from our ancestors, who knew a thing or more about proper thinking. Here's a mathematical problem, solving which would be a scientific advancement on par wit dat ushered by da invention of #zero & #SetTheory of #Cantor Cantor's sets of #lauter #Einsen (all ones) have almost zero #structure and, as such, serve as a blank white page to print all kinds of texts & images (https://lnkd.in/gNHH34pR). In fact, Cantor compared his #abstraction of #discrete & #constant #Kardinalen from #cohesive & #variable #Mengen to da abstraction of #number zero, and felt very proud of inventing da zero of #structures But, as we can readily see from da analogy, we can't print milky white full moon on a blank white paper. So, we need, instead of Cantor's almost #structureless sets, a construct totally devoid of #properties / structure, i.e. #Nirakara (formless) AND #Nirguna (essenceless) (#Brahman is beyond my paygrade ;) to #model any #mathematical object. Of course, because it’s a tremendous inspiration for today's “Atma Nirbhar” India. The National Science day is about being proud of the contribution India has provided in science and recognizing the potential. Today we also celebrate the unthinkable impact science and technology has brought to the public in numerous ways. The theme for this year’s National Science Day is "Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat”. Working on the Flexible packaging industry for last last two decades provided us tremendous pleasure and honor-  ⚙️ to enrich the industry with multiple never-seen-before innovations,  ⚙️ to participate in the growth of our clients,  ⚙️ to witness Indian technologies being chosen and appreciated in the global stage and  ⚙️ to grow along with our competitors and collaborators in this field. Today,  we as team Kalpvrux thank all the manufacturers, researchers, inventors and scientists of India. There is a dichotomy in Indian science. At one end, there haven't been enough visible examples of Indian science impacting the economy and lives of citizens, as there are in South Korea, China or Singapore. On the other end, science is under-invested in, we do not have critical mass of high quality scientists and the ease of doing science in India is fairly low. (Vijay) K VijayRaghavan and I suggest a way out in an oped in The Economic Times. By following a 3-axis synergistic model to science, we can get both citizen impact, research excellence and readiness for the future. The model of Missions for socio-economic impact (Atmanirbharta); leadership in frontier areas (Vishwaguru) and forward-looking capacity building (Karmayogi) can make India a science superpower. Looking forward to my lecture on "Vision for Science, Technology and Innovation for Viksit Bharat" to the faculty and students of KL University on 23rd Oct at 10.30 am Would b talking about India's astounding progress in science and the vision n way forward for future. India witnessed an unprecedented progress in most of S&T indicators like, no of publications (from 6th to 3rd in global ranking in last 10 years), No of Resident Patents filed from 9th to 7th in last few years, Global Innovation Index ranking from 81st in 2015 to 39th in 2024 n many others. Heartening to note Govt launched a record number of technology related national missions (around 20) n at least 10 STI related national policies in last one decade. Successful implementation of these technology missions n policies would provide India a big advantage n help country positioning as a strong global STI leader. The Anusandhan National Research Foundation #ANRF is one such initiative which once implemented can bring major transformation in the way research in India is supported, practiced n encouraged.
