A New Phase to Empower Petroleum Youth: Appointing Young Professionals as Assistants to Company Heads As part of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ vision and its strong belief in the value of human capital, and in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 strategy, the ministry continues its journey of modernizing the Egyptian petroleum sector. This is to ensure the sustainability of development and enhancement efforts across all sector activities, particularly concerning human resources, which are a crucial driver for comprehensive and sustainable development. The Ministry of Petroleum is proud to announce the advanced phase of its "Young and Mid-level Leadership Program," aiming to build on the achievements of previous stages by further investing in human capital through a dynamic and continuous process of development and education. The advanced phase of the program introduces the "Work Shadowing" project, which seeks to combine the experience of senior leaders with the skills and capabilities of young professionals. Graduates of the program will be empowered and assigned as assistants to the chairpersons of various petroleum companies for a period of 18 months. This phase ensures the transfer of knowledge and experience, while fostering the development of the second and third tiers of leadership, It will be conducted with a commitment to transparency, integrity, and adherence to the highest standards of professional development and practical training, These efforts will serve as a benchmark for the Egyptian petroleum sector, which is rich in talent and expertise.

1 year and 2 positions in the largest stainless steel producer in Europe - all praise to Allah. The learning curve from two worlds - technical and business - has been extraordinary. Trying to grasp the "paradoxical(?)" combination of "micro" and "macro" insights within a short time can be too much to absorb, but it comes with a rush of dopamine as it paves the way towards the REAL PICTURE. (Allah makes it easy). So far, I have managed to draw a hazy sketch of safety, sustainability, efficiency/responsiveness and endless possibilities. But, my bigger contentment lies in coming across wonderful colleagues and inspirational leaders, some of who are turning out to be friends.
