Title: Enhancing Home Security: The Role of Door Locks and Smart Holding Solutions In the realm of home security, few elements are as crucial as door locks. They serve as the first line of defense against intruders and unauthorized access, making them an indispensable component of any household's safety measures. However, in today's digitally-driven world, traditional locks are evolving into smarter, more advanced systems, offering enhanced functionality and convenience. One such innovation gaining traction is the integration of smart holding solutions with door locks, revolutionizing the way we safeguard our homes. **Understanding the Importance of Door Locks:** Door locks have been a fundamental aspect of human civilization for centuries, evolving from rudimentary mechanisms to sophisticated systems designed to thwart even the most determined intruders. They provide a sense of security and privacy, offering peace of mind to homeowners and tenants alike. Whether it's a simple deadbolt or a complex electronic keypad lock, the primary purpose remains unchanged: to control access and protect what lies beyond the threshold. **The Evolution of Door Lock Technology:** Advancements in technology have propelled the evolution of door locks, ushering in an era of innovation and versatility. Traditional mechanical locks have given way to electronic and smart locks, offering features such as keyless entry, remote access control, and integration with home automation systems. These modern locks not only enhance security but also provide convenience and flexibility, allowing homeowners to monitor and manage access to their properties from anywhere in the world. **Introducing Smart Holding Solutions:** While door locks play a pivotal role in securing our homes, the concept of holding – the act of ensuring that doors are properly closed and latched – is equally important. Smart holding solutions complement traditional locks by addressing common issues such as doors being left ajar or not securely closed. These devices utilize sensors and automation to detect the status of doors and take corrective action if necessary, ensuring that entry points remain secure at all times. **Benefits of Integrating Door Locks and Holding Solutions:** The synergy between door locks and holding solutions offers several benefits for homeowners seeking to bolster their security measures: 1. Enhanced Protection: By combining the security features of door locks with the proactive monitoring capabilities of holding solutions, homeowners can create a comprehensive defense against unauthorized access and intrusion. 2. Remote Monitoring and Control: Smart holding solutions enable homeowners to monitor the status of their doors in real-time and take immediate action if any irregularities are detected. Whether it's closing a door remotely or receiving alerts about suspicious activity, remote access adds an extra layer of security and peace of mind. 3. Customization a

Tips for a Smart Thanksgiving at Home The good news is that your Alarm.com-powered smart home security system has some helpful tricks that can make things easier. Here are five tips that you should consider setting up before Thanksgiving Day. 1. Open your door, save energy From last-minute shopping runs to welcoming visitors, you'll be opening your front door a lot during the holiday. When your heating is running at the same time, you can end up paying to ‘heat the neighborhood.' If you have an Alarm.com Smart Thermostat, now is the time to activate the ‘auto set-back' feature. When your front door's contact sensor detects that your door is open for a long time, your thermostat will automatically set back to save energy and protect your heating bill. As soon as you close the door, it starts up again. 2. Give guests anytime access Are you hosting family members for several nights? As part of their welcome, give them their very own code to your front door. Unique user codes let your guests come and go as they please, with no need for a spare key. They can also trigger a smartphone alert every time it's used. This is great if you're away from home and want to know who's coming and going. 3. Get proactive protection from fire danger Between log fires and deep fryers, Thanksgiving Day typically sees an increase in house fires across the country. As well as being extra-mindful on the day, make sure that your home is protected in advance. Alarm.com-powered smart smoke detectors don't just warn you about a fire: they proactively alert your monitoring station, who dispatch your local fire department. If you don't have smart smoke and carbon monoxide detectors installed yet, now is a good time to talk to your service provider about adding them. 4. Know who’s at the door Are you expecting family and guests to join you during Thanksgiving Dinner? Expecting any deliveries? Using a video doorbell, you can see who is coming up to your door, keeping you in the loop. Alarm.com Video Doorbells can inform you when your friends or family arrive or if any important packages show up at your doorstep. With integrated two-way audio, you can let your guest know which door to enter from, and where to drop off their dish while you are busy in the kitchen. If you pair your video doorbell with a smart lock, you can even let guests in when you can’t answer the door. 5. Prevent false alarms With friends and family visiting during Thanksgiving, it can be difficult to arm your system at night without anyone tripping it while you are taking your well-deserved post Thanksgiving meal rest. Alarm.com Smart Arming will arm and disarm your system at a set time that works for everyone’s schedule or if motion is detected by your sensors. You don’t need to worry about teaching your whole family on how to disarm the system, your system will do it for you to prevent any early morning alarms! We hope you have a happy, safe, and smart Thanksgiving!

Home Security Advisory: Protecting Your Home and Loved Ones In today's world, ensuring the security of your home is more critical than ever. Home security systems have evolved, offering advanced technology to safeguard your property and loved ones. Here’s a concise guide to enhance your home security. Install a Comprehensive Security System Invest in a reputable home security system that includes alarms, motion detectors, and surveillance cameras. Modern systems offer smart technology integration, allowing you to monitor your home remotely via smartphone apps. Secure Doors and Windows Doors and windows are the primary entry points for intruders. Reinforce them with deadbolts, strike plates, and secure locks. Consider installing security bars on windows and doors with glass panes to prevent break-ins. Utilize Outdoor Lighting Adequate outdoor lighting can deter potential intruders. Install motion-sensor lights around your property, particularly near entry points, pathways, and dark corners. Well-lit areas make it harder for intruders to approach unnoticed. Trim Shrubs and Trees Overgrown shrubs and trees can provide cover for burglars. Regularly trim any vegetation near windows and doors. This not only improves visibility but also eliminates potential hiding spots for intruders. Implement Smart Home Technology Integrate smart home devices such as doorbell cameras, smart locks, and automated lighting systems. These devices allow you to monitor and control your home’s security from anywhere, adding an extra layer of protection. Establish a Neighborhood Watch Join or establish a neighborhood watch program. Communities working together create a safer environment by keeping an eye out for suspicious activities and reporting them promptly to local authorities. Be Cautious with Social Media Avoid sharing your location or vacation plans on social media. Publicly available information can alert potential intruders to your absence, making your home a target for burglary. Regular Maintenance Ensure all security devices and systems are regularly maintained and tested. Check batteries, update software, and replace any faulty equipment to ensure optimal performance. By following these guidelines, you can significantly enhance the security of your home, providing peace of mind and protection for your family. Stay vigilant and proactive in maintaining a secure home environment.

1. Keep Windows & Doors Locked & Closed As the summer months roll in, it’s easy to forget about these, while packing for a vacation or day trip. For homes with window a/c units, consider attaching tilt or contact sensors that can be connected to alarm systems for real-time alerts should a separation or “tilt” occur as the window slides up during any attempted break-ins. 2. Keep Valuables Out of Plain Sight Keeping doors and windows open can increase the chances of outsiders spotting any valuables inside your home. 3. Install a Smart Home Security System Many home systems provide real-time control and monitoring from your mobile device and are paramount to deter potential thieves. 4. Purchase Indoor & Outdoor Security Cameras Consider installing wired or wireless doorbell cameras or night vision, motion detecting and video surveillance cameras. These can also enable you to remotely answer and unlock doors for a house sitter, delivery person and other service personnel. 5. Add Outdoor Motion-Activated Lights Lighting around the perimeter of your home can be the first defense against burglars. Utilizing security cameras with video analytics is an added protective layer. 6. Don’t Promote Your Vacation on Social Media We know it’s exciting to post a photo of you lying in the sand sipping a margarita, but if your profile is public, anyone can gain a full view of your travels and an empty home provides the perfect opportunity for break-ins. Refrain from tagging locations of airports and switch off your phone and social media GPS features. 7. Make it APPEAR as Though You’re Home Consider Smart Outlets and LED bulbs to schedule when lights or other electronics turn on and shut down each day. You can set up an app rule to activate smart bulbs should your camera detect outdoor motion. Have landscaping regularly serviced and watered. Ask your neighbor for help to look after the house while you’re away by parking their car in your driveway. 8. Be Conscious of Spare Keys It may ‘seem’ like a good idea to keep a spare under an object in the front or backyard, however, the risk someone may use your spare keys to break in is somewhat higher. 9. Lock, Track & Monitor Your Vehicle(s) Allowing access to your vehicles overnight provides easy access to garage door openers, valet keys, valuables, etc. 10. Don’t Forget About Garages & Outdoor Sheds The simplest method of securing your garage and shed is closing doors and any side entrances. Smart technologies exist with real-time security notifications enabling you to open and close your doors from your mobile device and receive alerts if these contact or tilt sensors are breached. If you have any questions or need us, we’re there 24/7 or 365. #digrandeagency #smallbusiness #summersafety #statefarm #securitysystem #keepsafe #safetytips #burglaralarms #securitycameras #homeinsurance #insurance #homeinsurance #rentersinsurance #womanownedbusiness #smallbusiness #localbusinessowner #safetysaturday
