Here's the song I created with Suno AI: #genAIandHumanities

This is where AI is today and by the end of the decade it will literally be a million times better. AI is already smarter than 95% of the population. Most people can’t write text, answer questions, solve problems, write computer code, play chess, create music, or paint pictures as well as AI. We are already comparing AI to the top 1% of humanity which outperforms most people on the planet in a single area while AI can do it in all areas.
I finally tried to make a song with AI. I’m pretty impressed. This was based off a 200 letter prompt. What do you think ?

Is AI at a standstill or breaking through in more and more sectors? The online debate seems to go back and forth on this question. But for me, the answer is clear: the impact of AI is expanding rapidly, and it’s reshaping the way we think, create, and operate. A few months ago, I used Suno to generate some fun joke songs. While it was already impressive, the output felt more like an experiment than real music. Fast forward to yesterday, I tried again, and the results blew me away: an actual Progressive Rock track about the joys (and quirks) of being a product owner in a tech company. You can hear it for yourself here: https://lnkd.in/ee5nvWC3 This small personal experiment is just a glimpse into how AI is evolving—steadily but surely pushing boundaries across industries. For companies, this signals an urgent need to position themselves strategically in this new AI-driven reality. One critical shift will be the growing importance of data. Companies that embrace their potential as data-as-a-service (DaaS) providers—or at the very least learn to leverage their data more efficiently—will gain a significant edge. This transition may prove to be even more disruptive than when financial institutions pivoted from being report-driven to data-driven organizations. The implications are vast, and the time to adapt is now. How is your organization preparing for AI’s expanding role in the world? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

In continuing with the idea (or my theory) that the ability to evaluate/critique/curate the output is the critical skill required to extract value out of #genAI (more so than prompting), once again Ethan Mollick nails it: it you can't tell the difference between good and not-so-good in a given domain or field of knowledge, you won't be a power user or even a decent user, but sometimes that is enough, depending on the use case. 🤔 For example, if you are the end consumer of AI-generated art(ifacts), such as music, then it doesn't matter whether you can distinguish good from not-so-good as you are the one enjoying the output. You are in fact the best person to know what you like. 😱 If you are using #genAI to write mission-critical code and can't tell the difference between robust and brittle, that's another issue. The critical evaluation skill is therefore dependent on the requirements of the output's end consumer.
If progress continues, the ability to figure out the AI frontier will slip from most of us across most fields of knowledge. For example, I am not a good enough musician or a skilled enough critical listener to know if Suno v4 is actually as good as it sounds to me. I need to defer to experts (is it?) https://lnkd.in/eUr-mceb

Ethan Mollick - I think most people would agree that the appreciation of art, music, or any form of creative expression is subjective? Let's consider that AI has three basic characteristics. 1) It's exponential, moving faster than any other technology. 2) It's combinatorial and increasingly multimodal. 3) It's a massive compilation machine that can remix anything and everything that has ever been digitized. This certainly poses issues of originality, authenticity, and perhaps copyright, but that too is subjective. AI, essentially, rides on four primary layers of Internet protocol.1) Communication, 2) Search, 3) Commerce, and 4) Entertainment. Smartphones gave us mobility and sensor integration, within an ecosystem of Apps that provide enhanced scope, and now AI is embedded into all of this. AI "is" software, but it is "not" a specific software application [like anything we've ever known]. If we consider AI as simply another means to do "more and better" we are missing the bigger opportunity, to do "different and divergent". AI is a platform of functionality, it can help us with aspects of ideation, analytics, synthesis, and application. Those who do not understand this will will be usurped by those who do.
If progress continues, the ability to figure out the AI frontier will slip from most of us across most fields of knowledge. I recently attended the CIM webinar on AI. Mind blown by what can already be done with AI and it seems to grow weekly. I had a play with suno to create a song about my grandsons. Below is one of the offerings. Thinking of the possibilities for adding tailored audio to ads and social posts at the click of a button. Have a listen. #AI #artificialintelligence #cim

A great example of how #AI can be used in #XR to create tailor-made experiences that feel more responsive and personalized to the individual: @TRIPP, Inc. just revealed a new meditative experience for the @Meta Quest where an AI-driven guide walks you through self-reflection based on what you share. Have a look. https://lnkd.in/g44u8wH5
