Some thoughts from the last full day of #AWSreInvent.

Opinion: Will agentic AIs reinvent the consumption of weddings? And is there a huge wedding marketplace / infrastructure opportunity for Amazon? I think so.. one of the first things people think of when they think of Vegas is the economics (and contractual consequences) of getting married there. But imagine if the economics could be equally as attractive in a gorgeous state park setting (close to home) because an agentic AI was able to secure a permit to host multiple weddings at a beautiful govt owned property, secured porta-potty infrastructure, and organized a massive fast food order / delivery for the catering, etc… the agentic AI could even sell guest tickets to the event, covering all costs. And why do marriage contracts have to be so rigid? Couldn’t agentic AI lawyers draw up unique commitment contracts? Maybe a young couple could just agree to a trial marriage, still have a party, but agree to revisit the contract in the fall of that year… but the best part isn’t the attractive marketplace economics.. it’s the brand benefits of Amazon sponsored weddings, delighting customers on a massive scale.. and maybe most importantly, helping to alleviate the loneliness epidemic in the county - improving lives at scale!! Invent and simplify.. earn trust.. ownership.. think big! Giddy Up!!

#AWS always amazes me like it did almost seven years back when I joined. It has changed a lot, the culture, the people, the leadership, but one thing is constant, some well grounded people who work hard to delight their customers. Amazon Nova and #Anthropics will change the game on intelligence and price performance for foundation models alongside the next gen Amazon SageMaker, Bedrock and Amazon Q. Early benchmarks show 4x lower latency compared to alternatives 2. Trainium 2: Next-gen AI chip delivering 30-40% better price-performance than current GPU instances for generative AI workloads. The new TRN2 EC2 instances pack serious compute power, with UltraServers configuration offering up to 83.2 petaflops of AI performance. #Anthropic 3. Amazon Nova: Frontier AI models, including text-only and multimodal variants.
