Earlier this month, IBM concluded its acquisition of Software AG's webMethods and StreamSets. Despite IBM's robust capabilities in these areas, they pursued the acquisition of webMethods and StreamSets to enhance their offerings further, learn from these established technologies, and expand their market cap. With StreamSets and webMethods currently serving over 1,500 companies worldwide, IBM is well-positioned to integrate advanced technologies for next-generation AI applications that demand seamless data connectivity. As the integration software industry continues its robust growth, IDC forecasts the global market to exceed $18 billion by 2027, underscoring the strategic significance of IBM's recent acquisitions. This strategic move has enabled IBM to enhance its capabilities in three key areas: 𝐀𝐏𝐈 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: Offers comprehensive tools for creating, securing, monitoring, and analyzing APIs, ensuring efficient and secure data and service integration across applications. 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐢𝐏𝐚𝐚𝐒): Provides a cloud-based solution that integrates applications, data, and processes across different environments, delivering seamless connectivity and workflow automation. 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Data Integration supports both ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes, combining data from various sources into a unified view for consistent and comprehensive analysis and decision-making. I hope this move will benefit both current and potential customers by enhancing their capabilities and providing innovative solutions and looking forward I to seeing how this evolves into a next-generation integration platform, driving further advancements in the industry. #ipaas #dataintegration #apimanagement #ibm #softwareag #webmethods #integrationplatform

#Topics IBM to acquire StreamSets and WebMethods from Software AG for $2.3B [ad_1] IBM is doling out €2.13 billion ($2.3 billion) to acquire a duo of data integration assets from Germany-based enterprise software company Software AG. The all-cash deal will see IBM take ownership of StreamSets, a data integration platform that Software AG had acquired just last year, and WebMethods, which Software AG bought for more than $500 million back in 2007. It’s worth noting that Software AG itself was acquired by Silver Lake earlier this year, with the private equity giant initially procuring a majority 63 percent ownership for $2.4 billion before upping its stake to more than 85 percent in September. Today, news emerged that Silver Lake has now bought 93 percent of Software AG, with plans to delist the company from the public markets imminently. Integrated For IBM, buying Software AG’s integration platform-as-a-service (IPAAS) toolset fits into its broader embrace of the hybrid cloud, a shift that it has bolstered through the years with a series of big-bucks acquisitions — this includes its $34 billion Red Hat acquisition in 2018, and more recently its $4.6 billion deal to buy Apptio back in June. While cloud computing brings many benefits to companies, ...
