I know the recent CrowdStrike incident had caused a lots of grief to many IT professionals. However, are we getting too complacent or trusting? Is it really the best practice to simply allow automatic vendor software updates without undertaking quality assurance testing? To maintain high system availability we should only patch application or infrastructure in well balanced redundancy groups (aka staggered approach), so the blast radius of any unpredicted adverse impact can be safely contained, and thus mitigating risks. #redundancy #patching #crowdstrike

Yet another one finished. Now what's left is the privilege escalation modules, reporting, and the "mock exam". One thing I did not enjoy at all about this module was the random difficulty spike in Attacking Thick Client Applications, but otherwise, as always, I learned a lot of cool new stuff, including things I wish I knew when I participated in HTB's Cyber Apocalypse CTF events. #htb #cpts #htbacademy
