What a great "straight from the heart piece" Shaireen Shaikh. Your work and cheerful attitude was always a pleasure to watch from distance, but reading this experience was extremely refreshing. Having been a teacher at the incredible Azim Premji University and now observing the work of Karta Initiative India Foundation I can relate to your narration of both the challenges and the opportunities of working with the youth on breaking the cycle of inequality and marginalization. For me, the highlight of the piece was this very very interesting theorization - "Young adults are a special species. They come in all forms and shapes. It’s not a spectrum, it's a 3-D graph. On the x-axis, we have smart to dumb, on the y-axis it is flexible and rigid, you might think that their flexibility is dependable on their smartness, well you would be wrong. And on the z-axis, is who or what they are influenced by which can be everything from their peer/teachers/parents to their community/relatives/religion/politics. Someday maybe I will write a bit more about this theory. Interacting with this ball of vagueness and uncertainty (young adults) is my favorite part of the job.... These young people just have hope for a better future. They get to have innocence and ignorance, I hear those are bliss. It is not all flowers and rainbows, most of the time I worry for the future of this country while talking to them." Incredible synthesis of how it is to working with young adults - looking forward to reading more on this but congratulations for putting this so succinctly.
About a year ago I joined the Karta Initiative India Foundation. It’s been a year of learning and a lot of personal and professional growth. The next academic year has started and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on my amazing first year as a full-time working woman. Please check out my latest blog post ‘Finding my place’. It’s my journey as a first-generation learner on a full scholarship at Azimpremji University trying to navigate life. And how that journey paid off when I started working with Karta Initiative. It has a happy ending I promise. 💫

In November last year, Symbiosis Skills and Professional University hosted its annual fest Saksham 2.0, and it was a spectacular event. I am glad I got to work with the Sponsorship team (Offline pitching and mailing team) to contribute in the event's success. I was also a co-anchor for the Singing and Rap competitions. Working for Saksham 2.0 was certainly an experience I will never forget, because it helped me learn, connect and also have fun! I learnt valuable lessons, such as: 1. Not everything goes as you plan it. We might start out with a different picture in mind and the end result might be different. We just need to make sure we give our best. 2. Always have a backup plan in any scenario, and always be prepared for changes. 3. Never put all your eggs into one basket. 4. Never give up! These are few of the valuable lessons I learnt in this journey. I will forever be grateful for it!

Padma Shri awardee and Indian archery coach, Purnima Mahato, shares her powerful insights from the Simply Period workshop at JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur. 🎯💬 Reflecting on her journey as both an athlete and a coach, Purnima emphasized the importance of breaking taboos around menstruation in sports. By educating coaches, especially male coaches, about the impact of periods on athletic performance, we are fostering a more understanding and inclusive environment for female athletes. 🏅 'This knowledge is crucial for both athletes and coaches. It will not only enhance performance but also provide much-needed support during periods,' Purnima says. Together, we’re creating a lasting impact on the future of sports! 🌟 #SimplyPeriod #CoachesSupport #AthleteEmpowerment #MenstrualHealth #InclusiveTraining #BreakingBarriers #AthleteSupport #SimplySportFoundation #PurnimaMahato

Finding Peace After the Marathon: A Reflection on Life After JEE Hey everyone! I'm Harsh Verma, from Siliguri, West Bengal. I recently completed a two-year journey preparing for JEE and other competitive exams, culminating in a seat at the prestigious Jadavpur University. This journey, while challenging, was my own choice, and I cherished the experience. However, now that the marathon has ended, I find myself surrounded by peers diving into new endeavors—coding, editing, and designing—all at once. It's easy to get caught up in the "fear of missing out" (FOMO) , joining every club or society just to keep up. Naturally, I was drawn in too! I learned the basics of HTML, CSS, and Javascript, enabling me to build simple websites. I explored prompt engineering, delved into editing, and even launched an Instagram page about AI. While I enjoyed these new pursuits, something felt off. It was then I realized that, after two years of intense focus, I had jumped into another marathon without taking a moment to breathe and truly understand what I wanted to do. This realization led me to a crucial truth: No matter where you are in life, taking a step back to reflect on your choices is always a wise decision. This isn't about giving up or being complacent; it's about ensuring that we're moving in a direction that aligns with our values and goals. Remember, you don't need to do everything the world has to offer to become the best version of yourself. Sit back, try to understand your true self, and get outside!(cant stress this enough.) Meet new people, explore your interests, and don't just stay in your room trying to do everything all at once. Getting behind a month or two right now won't cost you much, but when it's time to showcase your skills, stepping forward without clarity can cost you everything. It's about finding the right balance between pushing yourself and taking time to understand what truly drives you. Now, having identified my true goals, I feel a sense of calm and clarity. I've started working towards them, knowing that it will be a long journey. What are your thoughts on finding balance and clarity amidst life's challenges? Share your experiences and insights in the comments below #life 😁

🌟 Pushing Boundaries & Embracing Challenges! 🌟 Recently, I participated in a singing competition 🎤 organized by Government College of Education, Chandigarh. Now, anyone who knows me well understands that I’m not exactly a natural singer. 😅 But, being a firm believer in stepping out of my comfort zone and pushing my limits, I took the plunge! It wasn’t about being perfect—it was about embracing the challenge and learning along the way. Taking risks, even when you're unsure of the outcome, is where growth happens. 🚀 Whether it’s in personal development or professional pursuits, I’m always committed to pushing boundaries and continuously evolving. #RiskTaker #PersonalGrowth #EmbraceTheChallenge #ContinuousLearning #SteppingOutOfComfortZone
