Opening the Doors to New Talent For shooting sports to truly flourish, the culture must be inclusive and accessible. Too often, specialized sports like shooting can feel exclusive, limiting participation to those with financial resources or proximity to facilities. However, building a lasting sports culture means actively working to make the sport accessible to everyone—regardless of background. Accessibility can be promoted in several ways: 1. Developing more local shooting ranges: By creating accessible facilities in various regions, we can invite a broader audience into the sport. 2. Scholarships and support for young athletes: Financial support for promising talent can help overcome the economic barriers often associated with shooting sports. 3. Educational programs: Workshops, seminars, and beginner’s classes can break down the technical barriers, making the sport more approachable for newcomers. A healthy shooting sports culture doesn’t just celebrate elite athletes; it encourages participation at every level, ensuring the sport grows and evolves. #ShootingSports #SportsAccessibility #SportsEducation #FutureChampions #SportsScholarships #BuildingSportsCulture #SportsFacilities #ShootingRange #SupportYoungAthletes #ColonelzSharpShooterz

𝟭.𝟱 𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 🤸 🏐 🤹♂️ Rainy days in PE means bulk classes in the sports hall and more opportunity for #teamteaching ... our go to (like most places I have worked) is volleyball with the badminton nets! We are fortunate to have four courts, so caters for about 8 teams of 10ish. This is not about learning and developing skills, but staying engaged with fun, physical activity. We usually do a rotation so every team plays each other once, but when we give students the autonomy of picking their own teams, there is often an "elite" and an "enthusiastic" team ... whose path should definitely not cross! By chance today, the "elite" teams were at one end of the hall and the "enthusiasts" at the other, so rather than having a rotation of 8, we simply rotated in two groups of four. The on-the-fly differentiation of the lesson helped to sustain the learning and enjoyment needs of students who love volleyball and those who love to find reasons to avoid volleyball (or other sports). This semester has been ideal to use a similar team teaching strategy by breaking the groups up to allow for higher levels of support for the enthusiasts, while teaching more strategy and tactics for the elite students in our football sports and invasion games. Creating the differentiated groupings has helped more students reach their learning goals in PE, and feel included, without having the "intimidation factor" when the "elites" are in the same team as the "enthusiasts". 𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 ✅ So I guess my reflection from the three posts on team teaching comes more from understanding how to incorporate it into practice effectively. Three classes playing one game of softball is not effective! Three (or four) classes with a rotation of activities, differentiated groupings of skill, collaboration with colleagues to make judgements on achievement, is genuinely purposeful and gets a tick of approval in my books. To keep on the PE theme, especially during the planning time of year. The Australian Sports Commission 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 cards incorporate the Change It mantra to help differentiate activities based on how students are succeeding through the lesson. There are ways to enhance challenge or make the activity more accessible for students. And while you are on the website, there are the 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 lesson cards to be more inclusive for students with disabilities and the 𝗬𝘂𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 cards to incorporate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into your PE classrooms. #AITSL #APST #HALT #standarddescriptors #teamteaching #hpe 🤔 Feel free to add your thoughts and opinions on this standard descriptor. 💡 https://lnkd.in/gkGXE5gX
