Last year, the Social Audio Description Collective wrote and produced description for the Guggenheim Museum exhibition Going Dark: The Contemporary Figure at the Edge of Visibility, which runs October 20, 2023 through April 7, 2024 in New York. SADC produced fifteen of the twenty-nine tracks in their entirety: Writing, reviewing, narrating, recording and editing the sound. Guggenheim staff wrote eleven, which SADC provided them with notes on, and as with the others narrated and made into soundtracks. Recently, the Guggenheim published a Spotlight on their partnership with the SADC team to ignite curiosity around the exhibition’s theme of semi-visibility by highlighting the multiple insights, perspectives, and open-ended questions we brought to the verbal descriptions in Going Dark. WE CAN LEARN FROM ART-CREATION MORE WISDOM THAN FROM ANY UNIVERSITY. Art-creation teaches us most efficiently how to organically-dance with other unique humans. It helps discover our uniqueness and our whole and teaches us to keep balance. Interesting new independent ARC Panel. Heavily top level (VC.Deputy VC) level representation, good coverage of disciplines (only the full range of performing arts is a very large segment that is omitted) and application areas, several innovation track records shown. One does wonder how the fast emerging transdisciplinary areas crossing multiple fields will be handled from other than a senior management perspective. In spite of a good range of specialities I always found them the most difficult to review as an IntReader. Time will tell.

It is an art to be able to do a zero-sum talk. The period where you hear a string of well formed English sentences yet feel no value-added to the overall situation. If you spot such an artist, try to get them to talk last in your meeting or better ask them to drop a note. post inspiration: hangover of a 4 day workshop with 20+ people :-)
