Doing Things That Don’t Scale – KinderCastle Indonesia Edition: ✅ Personally interviewed 200+ parents and stakeholders Even today, I’m still their ‘customer service’ hotline, listening to every piece of feedback—both good and bad. ✅ Manually compiled over 1,000s of rows of year-long financial transactions Yes, into an Excel sheet! Because every CEO is a "Chief Everything Officer" in those early days. ✅ Individually reviewed 10,000+ resumes to find our first 10 team members And onboarded each of them personally. Great teams don’t just happen—they’re built with care. Today, KinderCastle is a much bigger company. But here’s the thing: I still don’t plan to hire a ‘personal assistant’ anytime soon. Why? Because as a founder, I believe in setting the tone and culture of the team. No job is beneath me. https://lnkd.in/ghBqQsYd

The boomerang approach to product development is characterized by: - being given an initial set of requirements for B' by upper management; - an 'all hands on deck' 24/7 or the business will fold sense of urgency; and - once the core team actually interviews the customer, the sudden realization that B is actually what they want. The boomerang is the genesis of the inspirational phrase "if you shoot for the moon and miss, you'll still end up amongst the stars." ...Often circulated via email by fools. #npi #productdevelopment

When One Door Closes, Another Opens: The Unexpected Value of 'Wrong' Solutions 🚪➡️🌈 Ever poured your heart and soul into solving a problem, only to realize your solution was a square peg for a round hole? I've been there too. But here's a twist: what if that 'wrong' solution is actually a key to a different door? 🗝️ In my journey, I discovered the power of adaptability and creative reuse. A solution devised for one issue, which initially seemed off-mark, turned out to be the perfect fit for an entirely different challenge. This experience taught me an invaluable lesson: the effort is never wasted, it's just waiting for its moment. ✅ Adaptability: Embracing flexibility in thinking can transform apparent failures into successes. ✅ Creative Reuse: Sometimes, a solution isn't wrong; it's just meant for a different problem. ✅ Effort Value: Every effort has its worth, sometimes revealing itself in unexpected ways. This approach has not only enhanced my problem-solving skills but also enriched my perspective towards challenges and solutions. https://lnkd.in/exQAzATa #ProblemSolving #Adaptability #CreativeThinking

Keep yourself honest: One ritual we started at Twingate early on was ask every user sign up for feedback -- how did we do? Did we solve your use case? It was a great way to get honest, direct feedback on what we could better, what we do well, and what other opportunities we should explore. Like most products, we had rough edges early on. But if you listen closely to your useres, take their feedback seriously, and act on it -- you put yourself on track to delivering something magical. It's a super powerful feedback loop if you take it seriously 💪

Heading into our team's 忘年会 (Bounenkai) tonight, I can't help but reflect on how different December feels in Japanese business calendar. While my LinkedIn feed fills with ugly Christmas sweater contests and Secret Santa exchanges, I'm preparing for a uniquely Japanese tradition that's taught me volumes about closure and fresh starts. As our settlement systems team wraps up a year of sprints, deployments, and countless problem-solving sessions, there's something powerful about gathering with the explicit purpose of "forgetting the year" (that's the literal translation of Bounenkai). Tonight, we'll trade our product roadmaps and sprint reviews for good food and better conversation. It's fascinating how this tradition creates a dedicated space for even the most reserved team members to open up and share stories you'd never hear in a standup. Four years into my PM journey in Japan, I've learned that sometimes the best team building doesn't come from planned exercises, but from cultural traditions that have stood the test of time. Looking forward to raising a glass with the people who've made this year's challenges conquerable. 🍶 What end-of-year traditions help your team bond and reset? #JapaneseCulture #ProductManagement #Fintech #TeamCulture #WorkLifeJapan

The concept is compelling, implementation is challenging but achievable. The true test, however, lies in bringing everyone up to speed and getting them onboard. https://lnkd.in/ddHmnZ5Y

🧠 Why your child should be bored: Did you know? 🧠 When the brain is in default mode, it's not idle – it's generating creative ideas and solutions. Boredom allows the mind to enter this mode, sparking innovation and deep thinking. 📱 Constant Entertainment: Children and teenagers today are always entertained by phones and digital content, not allowing the brain to go to the default mode. 🧠 Reduced Creativity: Studies show that constant stimulation leads to less creativity and imagination. 👨👩👧👦 Parental Role: Encourage kids to embrace boredom for their creative and imaginative development. #Creativity #Parenting #ChildDevelopment #DigitalDetox #Screentime #Skærmtid
