CPG has had an interesting shift in the past two years, especially regarding the snack category and the sentiment around "healthy" eating. Nearly half of consumers don’t have consistent patterns for when and how much they eat, highlighting the importance of healthy snacks to fill this need space. Globally, 45% are approaching snacks with the goal of finding the healthiest options available, while 38% take a more balanced approach saying they allow themselves indulgent snacks as part of an overall healthy diet. For my fellow parents out there, we tend to lean heavier on the first statistic as our children become more consumed by snack culture and sometimes (unwillingly) rely on snacks as meal replacements. There's been a surge in legacy snack brands touting "made with vegetables" or "hidden vegetables" on the packaging - yet when you look at the nutrient panel and ingredient list, there are barely traces of vegetable powder or extracts listed. While it's exciting to see legacy brands strive for "healthier" alternatives and more organic offerings, our industry as a whole has a long way to go. Thank you Elizabeth Flood for including Cerebelly in your article on brands prioritizing real fruits and vegetables as ingredients. We aim to pave the way for what nutrient density in CPG should look like by prioritizing whole-food ingredients. https://lnkd.in/eWirMyaT #CPG #kidsfood #snacks #healthfood #fooddive

Convenient, on-the-go snacking has become a popular replacement for mealtimes. Almost half (48%) of consumers globally consume over two snacks a day, according to a new report from HealthFocus International. But as consumers have shifted when they eat, they have also changed how they eat. The shifting sentiment around snacking and healthy eating overall has led food manufacturers to be more thoughtful on the ingredients they include. The HealthFocus International report found that people approach snacks with the same scrutiny as their meal choices, expecting healthier options, even in indulgent categories. Hey there! It’s been a whirlwind of a week, with the usual rush of deadlines and meetings. But amidst all the chaos, I’ve found myself increasingly fascinated by the world of food additives, particularly bulk apple pectin. Now, you might be thinking, “What’s so special about a bit of pectin?” Well, let me tell you, it’s more than just a little something added to jams and jellies. Apple pectin is a natural fiber that comes from the cell walls of apples. When we talk about bulk apple pectin, we’re referring to a larger quantity of this substance, often used in industrial or commercial settings. It’s not just for making your jam thicker; it has a range of applications and benefits that make it a valuable ingredient in both food and health products. One of the coolest things about bulk apple pectin is its versatility. In the food industry, it’s commonly used as a gelling agent, thickener, and stabilizer. This means it can help improve the texture and consistency of various products, from yogurt to desserts. For those who are into healthy eating, apple pectin is also a prebiotic, which means it can promote the growth of beneficial bacteria in your gut, supporting digestive health. It’s like giving your insides a little treat! When you’re shopping for bulk apple pectin, quality matters. Not all pectin is created equal, and opting for a high-quality product can make a big difference in the final result of whatever you’re making. Whether you’re a home cook looking to make homemade preserves or a business owner sourcing ingredients for your latest recipe, investing in good bulk apple pectin is worth it. Now, I know what you might be thinking—what about the cost? Bulk apple pectin can sometimes seem pricey, especially when you compare it to other, less natural alternatives. However, consider the long-term benefits. Not only does it offer better health outcomes, but it can also enhance the flavor and texture of your dishes, making them stand out. Plus, using a natural ingredient aligns with the growing consumer demand for clean-label products, which can give your brand a competitive edge. Speaking of brands, if you’re running an online store or a small business, optimizing your website for search engines can significantly boost your visibility. Using keywords like “bulk apple pectin” in your content can help potential customers find you more easily. For instance, you could write blog posts or product descriptions that highlight the unique properties and uses of bulk apple pectin. This not only helps with SEO but also educates your audience, building trust and loyalty. On a personal note, I’ve been experimenting with using apple pectin in my own kitchen. One of my recent favorites is a smoothie bowl where I use a touch of pectin to thicken the base, creating a creamy, satisfying texture without adding extra calories. It’s amazing how a simple ingredient can transform a dish! So, whether you’re a chef, a health

Karanth’s Food: Using Fruits & Veggies to Craft Healthy Snacks Karanth’s Food employs innovative vacuum-cooking techniques to craft flavorful and nutritious chips from fruits and vegetables. With an expanding online presence and an increasing footprint in Southern India, the company is actively fostering a culture of health-conscious snacking, thereby spearheading a transition towards more wholesome dietary choices. In a world where potato chips and sugary treats reign supreme, the notion of okra, or bhindi in popular parlance, as a snack may appear whimsical to the uninitiated. Likewise, the idea of creating delicious snacks from carrots and bitter gourd could easily be shrugged off as downright absurd.
