Sacramento State is extending a welcoming hand to community college students in Compton, particularly those who want to enroll in its historic Black Honors College. On Thursday, Dec. 12, Compton College President Keith Curry visited the University to sign an agreement that will help his students seamlessly enroll in the BHC. More than two dozen community colleges have entered into similar partnerships with Sac State. The Honors College, the first institution of its kind in the country, is expected to welcome its first cohort of transfer students in the Spring 2025 semester. The BHC is designed for students from all backgrounds who are interested in Black history and culture. It offers high-achieving students of all majors a comprehensive curriculum focusing on the Black and African American experience.
