1dThe meet last night was really good, we had 6 attendees including myself and a good opportunity to catch up about the #wpdrama and the new checkbox 🍍! I have only seen half of the State of the word video but noticed a really subdued atmosphere this time. E.g. no clapping for at least 20 mins in and people a lot less excited as before. It's obvious why but was a bit of an awkward viewing experience. In our meetup, Kurund Jalmi from Third Sector Solutions gave a really good presentation summarising the best new features in Gutenberg, including: -- The new drag and drop placement of images to create layouts -- The "Zoom Out" feature letting you generate a template from blocks and patterns -- The Write or Design toggle - dividing the editing process in two so content editing is more focussed. -- "Blueprints" - these are recipes for WordPress playground which are pre-made solutions to spin up WordPress quickly. -- Block bindings for blocks, custom posts -- An amazing new commenting system to provide editor only comments amongst users. Our next meet is going to be in mid Feb 2025.
