Why building a fancy website won't help you grow your podcast... You have to focus on the right platforms. For podcasts Apple & Spotify. That's where the listeners you want to reach are. If you're not optimized for Podcast SEO, you won't rank high on Apple & Spotify. If you don't rank high, you won't be found. If you're not easily found, you won't experience organic growth... This is why you can't afford to ignore podcast SEO as a growth strategy.

"How do I get more listeners, Neal?" One of, if not THE most common question I ever get asked by people with existing podcasts. And there's a lot of nonsense advice out there about how to achieve it. Some say feed swaps. Some say guesting on other podcasts. Some say PR. Some say podcast SEO. (This one definitely helps with organic lift) I say, these people are all interestingly offering services around the solutions they suggest, and yet can't provide clear proof of results. I say, if you follow the above strategies, in most case you'll probably see a short term gain of anywhere between 1 and 5% overall. And most of them will probably not be ideal, target, loyal listeners. I say, if you really want to get more listeners that are a perfect fit for the content you're putting out, then there's a far easier way to do it. And I share all on the episode of my podcast, "The Podmaster" titled "How to get more listeners to your podcast (that you actually want!)" Search 'podmaster' in your favourite app. Or click the 'visit my website' link on my profile page. The podcast's about half way down the scroll.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: a podcast is the best and most intimate way to build your authority and grow your business. We’ll shout it from the rooftops, the mountain tops, and the bottom of the sea (although that last one might be difficult 🌊🤿)! But why might a podcast *fail* to turn listeners into clients? Kirk Lowe asked our resident podcast expert, Matt Halloran, that very question. Matt’s response? 3 main reasons: 1/ You’re not speaking *directly* to your ideal clients in language and terms *they* understand. 2/ You’re not solving a *particular* problem of theirs. 3/ XXXX XXXXX XX (Editor’s note: answer redacted, watch the short clip below 😜)! #BeYourOwnLoud #AdvisorMarketing #FinancialAdvisor P.S Want help? Think your podcast is just a channel strategy? It's never just a podcast. It can be a flywheel for growth. Kyle Smith and I discussed why podcasts crush it for B2B: 1. People buy from people. — The brand supports the promise the people make — Voice / Video gives personality to brand — Relatable stories > corporate speak Put connection at the center of your content. 2. It’s never just a podcast. — One show = endless content — Social clips. Sales decks. Blog posts. — Fuel your whole strategy with one recording Think distribution-first to get the most ROI. 3. Brands don't have a soul, people do. — Stories are uniquely human experiences — People trust people, not algorithms — Podcasts keep your content authentic through natural speak & tone Want to hear more about using podcasts as a content flywheel? Podcasting 𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 video when it comes to completion rates. We see 80%+ in our podcasts, while videos tend to see less than 50%. Podcasting's superpower and why that matters to brands... When it comes to video content: - The "good" average view duration for videos <5 minutes is 50-70%. - Longer videos see 40-60%. - YouTube's own studies have shown that more often viewing tends to peak at 50%. If we are talking Business-focused video content, only 50% of viewers complete a video 5-10 minutes long, after that it just goes down. On the other hand, our client's brand podcast episodes run 30-40 minutes and regularly see over 80% completion. Why? Part of it is podcasting's audio-first format - listeners don't have to sit in front of a screen to consume it. They can listen to a podcast while running, while commuting, while shopping at the grocery store. This means they have more time to listen with fewer distractions. Video's can't always be with you on-the-go. Video is great at many things. But podcasts let you share more, connect deeper, and hold attention longer.
