It's been exactly 5 months since I joined National Banking Corporation "the new bank" and my journey has been quite interesting. What did I learn so far? I learnt that team work makes the dream work. There's always something to learn from others when you learn to listen. Raise your hand to assist wherever you see fit. Accept the additional tasks to upskill yourself. Never think less of someone. Always ask questions - even if they make you look stupid. Upskill someone else by sharing your knowledge. Curiosity opens the pathway to innovation and creativity. Agree to disagree to avoid unnecessary conflicts. Don't mind other people's business. Stay focused on the vision, mission and goals of the company. #taheamaitoi #newbank #learning #growthmindset

I attended Scotiabank's Orange Shirt Day event last Friday, where I got to learn more about the true meaning of Truth & Reconciliation and how to create your own statement of reconciliation. As an international student, I was somewhat uneducated on this key part of Canadian history. Here is what I learned from the event: 1. Start by listening and learning Reflect on Indigenous experiences while acknowledging what has happened in Canadian history. 2. Make it personal and authentic Commit to lifelong learning, embedding principles of learning, acceptance, and active reconciliation. 3. Recognize the importance of relationships Build trust-based connections to strengthen partnerships with each other. 4. Take meaningful action Promote prosperity and opportunity. Shifting from "doing for" to "doing with" is a start. 5. Embrace the path forward Support Truth & Reconciliation initiatives as a model for your own steps to meaningful reconciliation. #truthandreconciliation #orangeshirtday #scotiabank

It's been over 2 years working with Wema Bank plc, and I must confess it has been an incredible journey of learning, growth, and impactful experiences. The notion that joining a bank will almost certainly turn you into one of the little cogs in a large machine is, in my opinion, somewhat of a myth. My work environment is pretty amazing and designed to accommodate "agile" workers. I am really appreciative of the meaningful connections that I have made across the organization and super thankful for the support from my colleagues. One way I've been able to improve my work performance is being committed to my professional development. It has not been somewhat easy, but here's to continuous learning, growth, and thriving in my career journey. Day 4 Competition #CIB_Summer_Internship_2024 As part of my summer training at CIB Egypt, I would like to talk about My favorite fintech which is Fawry. It is a company that has made a big impact on changing digital payments in Egypt. Fawry's services have brought enormous benefit to society, making financial dealings more accessible and convenient for millions of people. More importantly, the services have helped this population pay bills, transfer money, and even make purchases. It has been really helpful in providing people from the remote areas and with little access to the traditional banking services a chance to participate more fully in the economy. Fawry has played a huge role in promoting financial inclusion in the economy. It decreased the dependency on cash by digitalizing payments and, by extension, maximized the capacity of this increase in transparency, efficiency, and security associated with financial transactions. This, in turn, gained a more stable financial ecosystem, supported the small businesses in providing easier payment methods for the goods and services made and better encouraging the entrepreneurship in giving the sound payment infrastructures.
