Education is a fundamental human right, but it’s more than just books and classrooms—it’s about access to opportunities, guidance, and the freedom to dream big. At Antarang Foundation, we believe every young person deserves the right to choose their own career path, fostering a future filled with purpose and potential. Why does this matter? 🔹 Access to Career Guidance: Only 20% of Indian youth receive structured career guidance, leaving many aspirations unfulfilled. 🔹 Breaking Barriers: Socio-economic status, gender, and location should never limit one’s career aspirations. 🔹 Human Rights for All: Equal access to education and career opportunities aligns with Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, advocating for the right to education and the freedom to choose one’s career. According to UN Department of Social and Economic Affairs, education and career opportunities are central to sustainable development and economic growth. By ensuring inclusive access to guidance and resources, we’re fostering an environment where every youth can thrive, regardless of their background. At Antarang Foundation, we are committed to building sustainable and integrated solutions that make career guidance and opportunities available to every youth, ensuring that their rights to education and career freedom are not just respected but actively championed. #EducationForAll #HumanRights #CareerGuidance #YouthEmpowerment #EqualOpportunities #AntarangFoundation

Tomorrow (22 August 2024), GYEF in collaboration with Ga-Mphahlele Home-Coming and Agang Youth Movement will be hosting the Godisanang Grade 9 Subject Choice & Career Guidance. The program will be focused on helping the grade 9 learners make correct subject choices that will help them later on when they complete their matric. We have noted that many learners struggle to get into careers of their choices because they didn’t choose correct subjects earlier on. To curb this, we strongly believe this collaborative intervention program will help many now, for their benefit later on. The program will be held at the Itsoseng Community Hall, which was made possible by the intervention of the Itsoseng Stakeholders Forum. We are strongly hopeful that learners will benefit a lot from this program and get a much needed knowledge from the various professionals that will be present. #EducationFirst #Grade9SubjectChoice #GamphahleleHomecoming #AgangYouthMovement #ItsosengStakeholdersForum #GYEF2024 #GYEFza

Research Career Ladder in Indonesia 👨🔬 Researchers at Indonesian state research centers (such as at BRIN, the agency where I am working now) are divided into four hierarchical levels: - Research Assistant (‘Peneliti Ahli Pertama’, 1 sub-level) - Junior Researcher (‘Peneliti Ahli Muda’, 2 sub-levels) - Senior Researcher (‘Peneliti Ahli Madya’, 3 sub-levels) - Principle Researcher & Research Professor (‘Peneliti Ahli Utama’, 2 sub-levels). To get a promotion, a candidate has to collect certain amount of credit points and passed the portfolio and competency tests. An exception for a Research Professor, this title will only be inaugurated to a candidate who, besides has collected a certain (higher) credit points and passed the portfolio and competency tests, he/she has delivered a scientific oration in an academic session with a peer-reviewed oration paper assessed previously by an academic council.

Hi, INFORMERS! I'm Shalin, an undergraduate Science Information student at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jakarta. As a freshman, I am undergoing a student orientation for my major. I am mentored by Cahyo Nugraha and Nayshela Zahwa Putri Alisva! This time, I wanted to share some of my experience in college so far! It's been about four weeks since I started college, and the experience has been quite the rollercoaster ride. The first week was calm, with the professors introducing themselves and giving a brief explanation of what we'll be learning this semester as well as explaining class rules. But as I moved into weeks two, three, and four, it changed drastically. Assignments are now coming in fast, with the deadlines just a few days apart! I'm a bit shocked with how fast-paced college is. But I'm here, learning over time, trying to adapt to this new environment. It's a bit challenging, but I'm confident in my ability to push through! While the workload feels intense, I am still able to enjoy my college days as a student. I didn't feel an ounce of regret choosing this major. After all, I picked this major because of my interest in learning about data and information. Also, It's because of my major promising career prospects. #SIGNAL2.0 #EnhanceOurPotential #SainsInformasi2024 #SainsInformasiUPNVJ

Yesterday, our friends at Native Discovery came to the SIS campus! They gave us a series of wonderful workshops on identity and perception in the context of #OrangAsli (Indigenous Malaysians). I learned so much about Orang Asli community and culture and many of our students were introduced to the term for the first time. As we navigate the path toward inclusive and holistic education, it's crucial to recognize and integrate the invaluable wisdom of Indigenous cultures into our school systems. #Indigenousknowledge encompasses centuries of profound understanding, deeply rooted in the interconnectedness of nature, community, and spirituality. By introducing this knowledge into schools, we not only honor Indigenous traditions but also enrich the learning experience for all students. Here's why: 1️⃣ #CulturalDiversity: Incorporating Indigenous knowledge promotes cultural diversity and fosters respect for different perspectives. It encourages students to appreciate and celebrate the richness of human heritage. 2️⃣ Holistic Learning: Indigenous knowledge offers holistic insights into various subjects, including environmental science, #sustainable practices, and traditional medicine. By embracing this knowledge, we provide a more comprehensive education that resonates with learners on a deeper level. 3️⃣ #EnvironmentalStewardship: Indigenous cultures possess profound insights into sustainable living practices and environmental stewardship. By learning from these practices, students develop a deeper respect for the Earth and are empowered to become responsible custodians of the planet. 4️⃣ #SocialJustice and Reconciliation: Introducing Indigenous knowledge into schools is a crucial step toward reconciliation and healing. It acknowledges the historical injustices faced by Indigenous communities and helps bridge the gap between different cultural groups. 5️⃣ #EmpoweringIndigenousYouth: By validating Indigenous knowledge in education, we empower Indigenous youth to take pride in their heritage and contribute their unique perspectives to society. It promotes self-esteem, resilience, and a sense of belonging. As educators, policymakers, and community members, it's our collective responsibility to ensure that Indigenous knowledge is not only respected but also integrated into the fabric of our educational institutions. Let's embrace diversity, foster understanding, and create a more inclusive future for generations to come. #IndigenousKnowledge #EducationForAll #CulturalDiversity #Inclusion #HolisticLearning #SocialJustice #Sustainability #FutureLeaders #SISPenang #DiscoverNative #ISP #AmazingLearning #ESD

Big changes are happening in Indonesia’s education system. Thanks to Pusat Layanan Pembiayaan Pendidikan Kemendikbud Ristek . The removal of high school majors like science and social studies is meant to give students more flexibility in choosing subjects that are aligned with their interests. But does this mean they’ll have more freedom to discover their passion, or will it leave them more confused? I see this as a crucial moment for self-discovery before making big decisions. Don't take the wrong step! 🚨 The Danger of Choosing the Wrong Major: Following the Crowd Isn’t the Answer! 🚨 How many of us chose our college majors just because our friends did, or because it was what our parents wanted? Too many, right? Unfortunately, making a decision that doesn’t align with your true passion often leads to a miserable college experience. I’ve met countless students who feel trapped and stressed because they’re in a major that doesn’t resonate with them. Don’t let this happen to you or someone you care about. College should be a time of growth, not suffering. 🎯 Discover Your Passion and Choose the Right Major with TalentDNA 🎯 The good news is, you don’t have to navigate this confusion alone. With tools like TalentDNA, you can gain deeper self-awareness and uncover your true passion. Finding the right major isn’t just about following a trend; it’s about paving the way for a brilliant career ahead. 👉 Click the link to learn more: https://lnkd.in/gxK-9YTE

Why should someone else decide the parameters of rankings. Rankings should be personalised based on individual preferences. It is why we have developed U Rank (https://urank.org), where students and parents can choose the parameters themselves. Some new features: - Personalised Rankings - Research points with penalty - Colleges having retractions (research papers removed due to misconduct and errors) have been penalised for research points. We are the first to introduce such a penalty and hope that it can serve as a model for other rankings like #NIRF, #QS etc. Features coming soon - Number of students recruited by MAANG and the big four consultancy groups - Including many more colleges, Universities and domains - Creating better research measures that accurately measure the research quality Please help support this initiative by sharing it with students and parents who are trying to decide which college to choose. Founder - Kirtan Khichi, Sitare University Conflict of Interest - Sitare University is not part of these rankings
