Which state spins better growth by reeling the scheme benefits and attracting investments. Textile & Apparel industry is an integral part of India’s growth story. The presence of an entire manufacturing value chain from fibre to apparel and availability of raw material gives distinct advantage for both backward and forward integration. Most of the Indian states have come up with Textile & Apparel policies to give more thrust to this sector. As the Indian textile industry seems to be losing its major share on competitor countries like Bangladesh & Vietnam, these subsidies give a ray of hope to bring in more investments in the sector. We have taken four states which have exclusive Textile & apparel policies: 1)Maharashtra has come up with new policy and covers capital, power & CETP/Zld subsidies etc while Haryana offers full package of subsidies for MSME sector. 2)UP & Bihar have also covered most of the subsidies while Bihar has given more emphasis to weaving, knitting & garmenting units. 3)Haryana has covered 2 more sectors viz. textile machine manufacturing & textile recycling , which requires special thrust from govt. and investor side. It remains to be seen when other states like Gujarat, Rajasthan , Andhra Pradesh , Karnataka etc will come up with new textile policies and which state will be able to attract more investments and would suit investors requirements. #textileindustry #apparelindustry #textilepolicy #statepolicy

Why are Surat's textile giants heading to Maharashtra? Simple. The grass is cheaper (and greener) on the other side - especially when it comes to power bills. The textile landscape in Gujarat is on the cusp of a shift, with 130 Surat-based textile units already settled in Maharashtra's Navapur region. Why the migration? Lower power rates, cheaper land, and lucrative subsidies are driving this exodus. While Gujarat's new textile policy promises hope, the race is on to offer competitive benefits and keep the industry from moving across state lines. Here’s what we can learn from this scenario: 1. Power Prices Matter: In Maharashtra, textile units enjoy rates as low as ₹3–5.30 per unit, compared to Gujarat’s ₹8.50. Every rupee saved can lead to huge savings in energy-intensive industries like textiles. 2. Incentives Drive Expansion: Subsidies on land and construction costs in Maharashtra are hard to ignore, with factory owners saving millions on setup. 3. Capital Investments Follow Opportunity: Investments of ₹25 crore or more by textile firms relocating to Maharashtra show that businesses are willing to invest heavily if the incentives are right. 4. Policy Pushes and Pulls: With Gujarat’s new textile policy being rolled out, industry leaders are watching closely to see if capital and power subsidies will be enough to keep future expansions local. 5. Regional Competition is Real: Maharashtra is positioning itself as an attractive hub for Surat’s textile factories. This competition might just push Gujarat to up its game. 6. Future-Proofing the Industry: As Surat’s textile moguls look at setting up in Maharashtra’s Bhaler MIDC, it’s clear that early planning and strategic location choices can future-proof their businesses. In a rapidly changing industrial landscape, the real winners will be those who adapt to new opportunities and make bold moves. #TextileIndustry #BusinessStrategy #GujaratTextiles #Maharashtra #PolicyShift #PowerSubsidies #IndustrialExpansion

Yesterday, I highlighted the trend of textile businesses relocating from Surat to Maharashtra. Today, I want to talk about how Gujarat is tackling this challenge head-on with the "Textile Policy 2024". This new policy is a powerful strategy to keep businesses thriving right there in Gujarat. Here’s how it’s making an impact: 1. Attractive incentives: With capital subsidies of up to 35% on fixed asset investments (maximum ₹100 crore), this policy is designed to draw businesses back and spark new investments. 2. Job creation boost: Offering payroll support of ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 per worker per month encourages companies to hire more, especially women, fostering inclusivity in the workforce. 3. Easier access to credit: The policy provides credit-linked interest subsidies of 5%-7% for up to eight years, making capital more accessible for growth-oriented businesses. 4. Focus on sustainability: Financial incentives for reducing energy and water consumption help businesses adopt greener practices, keeping them competitive and eco-friendly. 5. Skill development support: With training assistance of ₹5,000 per worker per month, this initiative aims to cultivate a skilled workforce ready to meet industry demands. By implementing these measures, Gujarat is not just aiming to halt the exodus of textile businesses; it’s setting the stage for a robust and resilient industry. #TextileRevival #GujaratGrowth #BusinessResilience #SustainableTextiles #JobCreation
