We're in the thick of a cultural movement and awakening in the workplace. It can be daunting for some, but also exciting to observe. There's no better time to double down on yourself or look inward to figure out your next pivot. What would you invest in if time and money were not a construct?

Job security doesn't exist. You're just a row in a spreadsheet to your employer. The moment the company thinks they're better off without you, you're gone. Nothing personal, it's just business. → It doesn't matter how long you've been there (my cousin got laid off after 17 years at Google) → It doesn't matter how well the company is doing (Microsoft just did more layoffs) So what do you do about that? My opinion: Everyone should make a conscious investment in building your own personal brand and network, because that's how you give yourself leverage vs the corporate machine. If you have your people who know you and the value of your work, you'll be OK no matter what. For example, there's nobody who can take away my entire income tomorrow because of what their spreadsheet says. A client might leave. I might have a down month. But it's not gonna go poof tomorrow. There's still hundreds of thousands of people who know my name. They can't take that away from me. Even just 15 minutes a day of commenting and messaging here can make a HUGE difference! 3wI completely agree with your perspective! In today’s world, job security is no longer a guarantee, and building a personal brand is crucial for long-term stability. When you invest in relationships, skills, and your own brand, you create a safety net that a corporate job can’t offer.
