Mark Hughes brought some excellent insight to questions many of you are asking like: ❔ "Do Google Ads really work?" (It depends...) ❔ "What KPI's are important?" (If it moves, it can be measured. But it isn't necessarily important. What is...) ❔ "Who is actually defining the digital landscape...the followers or the tech?" (Both, and here's why...) Lesson from this episode: If creative agencies are going to stay relevant, they need a legit digital practice or a partner. A person who does it as part of their job won't cut it in this fast-paced digital landscape that literally changes hourly. #marketingsmarts #digital #creativeagencies

Episode 5 of our Creative Marketing Smarts Mini Series focused on the issues facing creating agencies today and how they need to evolve to stay relevant launches with special guest, Mark Hughes, Partner & Chief Strategy Officer, at Oodle, a Cincinnati-based digital design company. Mark balanced our more creatively-led conversations with a strong perspective of all things digital and how the landscape has changed considerably since he launched his first website in 1999! We talked about how important brand still is to the foundation of all work, while testing and learning can help refine the strategy and make it more relevant, how much more "scrum-like" clients are today in their desire to be nimble, and the power of having a true digital team at your disposal to ensure content is leveraged across the right channels. It was another packed episode while also having some fun in the conversation.
