Today we celebrate. It’s hard to imagine our little babies becoming young adults. Yet here we are. High school, driver’s ed, independence-building, boundary-pushing. I stand in awe of the kid we created, all she’s been through in her young life, and all she has yet to go through. A couple weeks ago, Paul Saarinen took a backyard headshot of Eve. She was auditioning for the musical Big Fish (yeah the Tim Burton one!) Few people know it took years of physical therapy after Eve’s brain tumor surgery before she fully regained her balance. In a month, she’ll be singing and doing advanced choreography on stage for three straight weekends of performances. Every birthday is a gift. 🎁 ❤️But this one, seems extra, extra special. Taking a moment here to acknowledge the profound role she has played in every part of our lives. Grateful. #Sweet16 .
Happy Birthday, Ève! ❤️

So wonderful to read this and know a bit about all that you guys have been through and how much good work you have done on behalf of the well-being of newborns. I bet Eve is saying, "right back at you, Mom!" to you Annamarie Saarinen!
