#SAP S/4 HANA Falsehood #2 : You won't be able to get SAP ECC 6.0 Support after 2027 - (and it will be a catastrophe) As I explained before, the REAL date to be concerned is 2030, not 2027. Here are some key points that I would like non-IT executives to know: 1) If you are running SAP ECC you OWN your license in PERPETUITY. Your SAP system can continue to work until December 31st, 2999 (or the end of mankind - whatever comes first) 2) Your SAP support bill includes access to create tickets with SAP and to implement any security vulnerabilities or code errors that need to be fixed (This is what you will no longer be able to buy in 2030). The latest SAP ECC Enhancement Pack 8 was released in 2015, so any code fixes are either already fixed - or will never be fixed by SAP! 3) SAP is not the only company offering SAP support. For example, Rimini Street and Spinnaker can support your SAP system now and after 2030. I have never used any third party support. However, I believe that as SAP continues to push for their 2027 deadline, more companies will start looking into these vendors as viable options.
