"Double down on supporting women..." I recently received an email from a PhD student embarking on her dissertation journey, focusing on the role of women in the events industry. What made it truly heartening was knowing that another influential woman in the meetings world had recommended me to her. It's moments like these that resonate as genuine support. Often, when I see my posts being shared and elevated, it reaffirms the feeling of being supported. It's a tangible demonstration of solidarity. Navigating how to support and uplift women can sometimes feel daunting. However, there are simple yet impactful ways to show your support: 🏆 Engage with posts by liking and sharing them. 🏆 Share meaningful content and engage in conversations that promote women's advancement in the workplace. 🏆 Initiate or participate in conversations that matter, reaching out to ask others how you can support them, not just when they can do something for you. 🏆 Offer your expertise by speaking in classrooms and contributing to committees or boards dedicated to women's empowerment. It's the little things that make this journey worth it, and feeling the support of others is the glue that gets us through the trying times, together. So think about doubling down to support the women in your lives today!

Remember what I posted last week about organizers not wanting to pay speakers to share their expertise with audiences…? This was a screenshot I took of a speaker submission I choose not to fill out for a large conference for women in media… I’m not judging people who choose to speak for free - because it may make sense to do early in your career if you’re local to the area, you want to speak to increase your visibility, or pictures of you yourself on stage. Howrver, this conference is specifically asking women to speak, who are “experts,” which I would think by definition means they are not at the beginning of their career. I guess I’m just getting fed up, curious and asking questions/considering what this means for women on a larger level. #keynotespeaker #womeninleadership #conferencespeaker
