While technical skills are crucial for writers, one often overlooked skill is emotional intelligence. Stop. Just stop. 🛑 At some point, you have to stop editing and refining and fine-tuning (enter all other synonyms here) your work and just publish it. Get it out into the world. Let go of your fear. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good. Don’t get me wrong: Anyone that knows me knows I prioritize high-quality content – whether it’s for your own platforms or you’re submitting it for consideration in a trade magazine. But after a few rounds of revisions, there comes a point when you have to look at a piece and say it’s good enough. It communicates your point of view. It provides supporting evidence. It adds to people’s picture of who you are. Most importantly, it gets your message out into the universe. 🌙 Because the flip side is that you’re missing out on key opportunities that come with the exposure that publishing your content brings. (And someone else, maybe your competitor, is getting that exposure instead.) I’m definitely a quality over quantity gal. But that quality content must be consistent. So, if your fine-tuning of a paragraph is keeping you from publishing on a consistent schedule, you have to decide whether that delay is worth it for you. If I were a gambler, I would bet it's not. #contentmarketing #contentstrategy #writing

"Writing content that resonates is really difficult!" After all your efforts and time, trying to put some real value out there by writing good content, not having enough traffic and engagement isn't really an option. As a matter of fact, there is actually a HUGE difference between 'good' content and 'engaging' content. Your content might be 'good' but if it doesn't bring the desired results...? Ouch. You might have Shakespeare's vocabulary but if you don't have the emotional writing power (persuasion), power that lets you gain reader attention... ...churning out a plethora of articles and blogs isn't gonna do much good. But trust me...it's really not THAT hard. Once you know the needs and preferences of your audience, offering valuable content will surely become your cup of tea. Bring stuff into the spotlight that you might have completely overlooked... ...and bring your readers' emotions into live action. Do you know what that means...? More Revenue.
