Chief Sustainability Officer @ Zomato

What I enjoy about working at Zomato as a #Sustainability professional 1. There's always ample space for #ESG updates in our quarterly shareholder letters no matter how big a quarter the business has had. This forces us all to think about our quarterly contribution. (That's the cue for you to download our Q1 FY25 letter) 2. My leadership never asks me 'Why is this environmental or social impact initiative important?' Their question is always 'What should we do to make this happen? It shifts the limits of what's possible from external (the problem ESG professionals usually face) to internal (how can I up my own ambition on this agenda) 3. Our ESG agenda gets so much love and support from our incredible Board of Directors many of who are deeply invested in Sustainability ventures and programs. It's rare to get perfect alignment of head and heart on ESG in any company. Zomato amazes me everyday.

Building Zomato

Out now - our Q1FY25 Report: blog.zomato.com/q1fy25 If you have any further questions or feedback, please email us at [email protected]. Always listening! Quick snapshots of how we’re powering India’s changing lifestyles: #Performance Our bottomline continues to grow with Adjusted EBITDA expanding to INR 299 crore - from INR 194 crore in the previous quarter. Happy to share that our quick commerce business sustained Adjusted EBITDA break-even (achieved in March) despite new store openings. #Growth YoY topline growth remained steady at 62% while GOV growth accelerated to 53%. Across our B2C businesses, the YoY growth in GOV stood at 27%, 130%, and 106% for the food delivery (Zomato), quick commerce (Blinkit), and going-out verticals, respectively. #QuickCommerce Average selection available to customers has increased 4-5x over the last 8 quarters. In some locations, we’re now offering up to 25k unique SKUs! Our plan is to get to 2,000 stores (from 639 currently) by the end of 2026 while remaining profitable. #GoingOut We see an opportunity to further expand our going-out offering than just dining-out, with use cases like movies, sports, shopping, staycations, etc. Our new app, District (by Zomato), will be a one-stop destination for all things going-out. But more on that soon 😉 #ESG Our emissions per km have reduced by 9.4% compared to FY22 - with a 4x YoY increase in orders delivered via EVs. Meanwhile, The Shelter Project has scaled to 600 rest points across the country, set up in partnership with fuel stations and restaurant partners. Under our First Responder Training Initiative, 30,000+ Zomato delivery partners are now professionally trained to provide first aid during critical roadside emergencies. #ThankYou That’s all for now. However, as always, we are just 1% done. We’re excited about the path we’re on and grateful for your continued support.
