Don't play down your achievements. A lot of people I speak to fall into a habit of saying "we did this" and "we delivered that". When discussing your accomplishments, remember that I am interested in your achievements, more so than the team. Highlight your personal contributions and avoid relegating them to the bottom of your CV in a few bullet points. Being a team player is crucial, but remember not to undersell what you bring to the table.

✨ Does your version of #joy leave room for all your feelings? ✨ When a teammate asked how I’ll celebrate my next chapter, my response was, Rage Room! 😄 It might not seem like the typical idea of #celebration, but here’s the thing, celebration doesn’t have to look polished or like rainbows and butterflies. For those of us who have been holding it all together for so long, joy can feel unfamiliar when it’s not controlled. Sometimes, the best way to celebrate is to release everything you’ve been carrying. 🕊️ Maybe you are going through a career transition, a relocation, or other impactful changes. How do you release the pressure and make space for joy? Let’s talk! 💬 Comment below or send me a DM. #ReleaseAndRebuild #Parentification

Regardless of your industry or profession, this quote from Maya Angelou rings true. Our words have power, influence, and long lasting effects. While conducting a reference call yesterday a prior employer list all the positive qualities of my candidate. The tone of appreciation, gratitude, and admiration was clear. If you are a hiring manager and receive a call regarding a prior employee, don’t ignore the call. One day you maybe the candidate wanting for a reference call to be completed. You maybe the person your current manager gets the opportunity to brag on and highlight all your positive contributions to their team.

Are We Giving Enough Praise at Work? In our fast-paced professional world, it's easy to let a simple "thank you" slip through the cracks. But I think so many deserve more. Here's why I believe we should be more generous with praise, especially for those outside our immediate teams. Impactful Interactions: We all have colleagues in different departments or functions. A quick interaction with them can leave a lasting positive impression but often goes unacknowledged. Specificity is Key: A generic "thanks" is nice, but a follow-up note highlighting what made their contribution unique shows you were truly paying attention and valued their input. Sending it further: Taking a moment to mention a team member's excellence to their supervisor can make a big difference in their recognition and career growth. The Power of Appreciation: A deeper thank you at the end of an interaction can leave a positive lasting impression and strengthen your professional network. How are you doing it? Or better yet - what method left a lasting impact on you?

🌟 Lessons in Loyalty and Perseverance from Raymond Reddington from The Blacklist 🌟 I was recently reminded of a powerful moment from The Blacklist where Raymond Reddington shares a pivotal life lesson: "When I was 15, I had a summer job installing carpets for Albert Kodagolian on Lake Charlevoix. Horrible job... hot, indoors, forced to listen to "The Gambler" on 8-track while the rest of the world was at the beach. Three days into the job, I knew I had to quit. I asked my father for advice. All he wanted to know was whether I'd given my word to Mr. Kodagolian that I'd work the summer. I told him I had. My father suggested I stick it out. I'd given my word. Worst eight weeks of my life. Until the last day. Mr. Kodagolian shows up at the jobsite, pulls me aside, and tells me that in 27 years, no kid has ever made it through the summer, gives me a bonus... $40. The most valuable money I've ever made. A priceless lesson about life. Value loyalty above all else." This story resonates deeply with me, highlighting the importance of integrity and commitment in both personal and professional settings. In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to overlook the value of sticking to our word, even when the going gets tough. 🔹 Integrity builds trust – When you honor your commitments, you earn the respect and trust of those around you. 🔹 Perseverance pays off – Pushing through challenging times can lead to unexpected rewards and personal growth. 🔹 Loyalty fosters strong relationships – Being dependable strengthens your connections with colleagues, clients, and mentors. Let's take a moment to reflect on our own experiences. How have moments of perseverance and loyalty shaped your career journey? 🌟 Appreciation Goes a Long Way 🌟 Had a wonderful conversation with a colleague this morning that got me thinking about what makes a great client. We were discussing one of our clients, and when asked if they were a good client, my immediate response was a resounding YES. It's not just about the projects or the bottom line (although those are important too). What truly sets apart a fantastic client, in my opinion, is their attitude towards collaboration and appreciation. Our client isn't just someone we work for; they're a partner in every sense of the word. They trust us to do what we do best without breathing down our necks. But what really makes them stand out is the gratitude they express for our work. Being appreciated isn't just a nice-to-have; it's a game-changer. It fuels our passion, drives us to excel, and strengthens the bond between client and team. In an industry where acknowledgments can sometimes be scarce, their simple "thank you" means the world. #ClientAppreciation #Partnership #Gratitude #Teamwork #LinkedInThoughts 🙌
