I completely disagree from this statement ,If kids don't learn to code , then there will be no one to use Nvidia's CUDA drivers effectively and we will have many more bugs in the system like the latest Crowd strike Incident . Not only that , this statement takes something from young developers that i think you should never take , hope . There is a Financial incentive for NVIDIA to say and endorse this message and lead more sales , Don't you think If they believed this , they would've laid off More people from HR & Dev teams . Meta made a profit and still let go soo many of the talented devs that instantly got re-hired from other MAANG Companies , Within DAYS if not the same day . NO , because for big tech companies , it seems very weak to layoff people and is a sign that company might not be in a good state . So if i think this take will age very very poorly , yes jobs will be less , eventually but that does not mean Ai will be fully able to replace human developers , not now , not in a 100 years . Learn to Code , Learn To solve problems .

Amazon Apple Microsoft Google Meta NVIDIA Tesla the future of work. we hear this in the ether. what does it mean? well for some it's get ready you will be able to turn on your mobile phone and whenever you choose to work, you will. there are many unknown implications of this as we have been used to a certain cadence to life. then with tech it changes. these (r)evolutions have happened over and over. now with (ai), language models, multi-modal models our ability to in an instant have at our finger tips an answer, direction, context...is there. i came across https://lnkd.in/ehqR4EKz and found this so relevant. the tech being used to offer an insight. the immediacy of it all. there is also www.layoffs.fyi. although missing in the picture was the sense of context. here we find those of the mag 7 that layed-off their employees over the past 2 years. and the current openings. we accept that openings does not mean that there is a role there. there is another behaviour in the mix. open roles that remain unfilled. although our sense is that perhaps this is different. on the back of a global pandemic. everyone (b)eing online and now the after effects of this. we find ourselves playing as we invent this new tech. as a heart beat we will reach a point where we will see much like the federal reserve bank of the u.s. has at it's finger tips. numbers. adjustments. historically this all took so long. to gather. qualitify. qualify. now we are in the instant era. <snap> you have an answer. immediate yes. is it indeed 'the' answer spot on. perhaps no. although this too will become a sharper image. after calculating the ratios of current open roles to layoffs over the last 2 years. notice for a moment the number of layoff events for each over time. we perceive this as pumping the breaks. 25 times for Amazon.18, 17, 15 for Microsoft Google Meta Microsoft. 7 for Tesla Apple. and zero for NVIDIA. of all these NVIDIA kept going. aware of the chaos. managing the chaos. zero layoffs. Amazon at the other extreme. here we have the company and where they are now. for those who are 100+% they are returning the roles that were layed off. notice only Apple at 500% and NVIDIA which is roaring at 150,800% are the only ones positioned with open roles. actively searching for qualified people. Amazon 72.6% Apple 500.7% Microsoft 13.4% Google 18.9% Meta 6.6% NVIDIA 150,800% Tesla 22.2% since the beginning of the global pandemic there has been according to layoffs.fyi 2024 138,534 2023 264,220 2022 165,269 568,023 layoffs from 2022-24. wow! the ratios of open to layoffs find that NVIDIA roars. As someone who's worked in wireless communications, it's a stark reminder that no job is truly "safe" anymore. I was laid off early last year, and honestly, I thought the market would improve by now. But here's what's really happening at AMD (and why it matters): 1. They're going all-in on AI, aggressively competing with NVIDIA 2. Resources are being redirected to AI chip development 3. Target: $5B in AI chip sales this year The irony? They're using AI to help build AI chips. After doing a little research here's my take: - Tech professionals are still better positioned than most - Sales and marketing roles are taking the bigger hit - BUT (and this is crucial) - you need to be exceptional in your job to feel secure Because the hard truth is - Tech isn't just changing - it's being ruthlessly reconstructed. Sure, you can take AI courses, but let's be real - AI isn't just here to help do your job, it's here to take some jobs entirely. At the end of the day, this is a business decision and while it is hard I trust Lisa Su's vision, though these decisions aren't easy. Tesla, Oracle, Intel have kept the layoff train going. Tesla feels like hubris, but Oracle and Intel raises an eyebrow. 20 years ago, they were stalwarts and now, just more lagging brands in a sea of change. Interest rate cuts won't spur hiring this time. Companies are trying to monetize AI, and Microsoft, Amazon, and NVIDIA know it. While it's nice to keep a gig while the layoffs come, 2-3 years from now, when AI is further saturated into the marketplace rather than mainly digital assistants and chatbots, one can hope that AI will do our dishes rather than write tech specs and code. Avoid relying on old thinking to use technology. My heart goes out to those laid off. If you flex into another field, with any luck, it will be where the human touch and AI meet.
