One thing you absolutely can't criticise EVs for is having an image problem. Just look at this beauty from Maserati: the new Grecale Folgore, which arrives in June. #evs #electricvehicles #emobility #sustainability
The Maserati Grecale Folgore arrives in June, entering a relatively small market of performance electric SUVs, such as the BMW ix M60 and the Tesla Model X Plaid. With upcoming Porsche SUV models set to be available with electric powertrains, and an electric Range Rover on the way, which performance electric SUV would be your pick? #ElectricDrives | #ElectricVehicles | #EMobility | #EV | #Sustainability | #ElectricSUV

Not your average test-drive circuit ❄️ To experience how Nissan cars perform under extreme conditions, we sometimes need to go beyond the ordinary. Nissan employees in Japan traded laptops for car keys to experience the capabilities of our vehicles on the frozen surface of Megami Lake. Finding the courage to take your car over an icy lake is no mean feat – but our teams jumped at the challenge. From super sportscars to SUVs, we explored how systems in each vehicle handle slippery surfaces. This included the Ariya and X-Trail e-POWER cars equipped with e-4ORCE, Nissan's electrified all-wheel-control tech which detects slippages of each wheel, quickly distributing driving force to maximize grip. Want to know more? Discover how e-4ORCE can support your drive on dry, wet or icy conditions: https://lnkd.in/gNtyJu4K #NissanEmployee #NissanProud #Nissan #e4ORCE #Ariya #XTrail #EV #ePOWER

🤑 Could we put levels to the progress of SDVs? A difficult task, as it’s a super complex environment 😱 As always, just my personal perspective 🙋♂️. Leave a comment, if you disagree or want to add your thoughts 💭. Quick reminder 🌟: 👉 SDV approaches are the North Star 🌟 of most traditional OEMs (Renault Group, Stellantis, etc.) selected challenger OEMs like NIO, XPENG, Rivian, Tesla are already far ahead 🏃🏼♂️. 👉 The SDV approach is a tool to enable customer focused solutions - over the whole vehicle 🚗 lifetime. 👉 Here starts the challenge: ✅ New OEMs start on the SDV stage with the right mindset but don’t need to manage complexity of previous projects. ❗️ Traditional OEMs need to keep their “lower” stages evolving and at the same time master the complex 🚨 tasks linked to SDVs and shifting to customer focus 🧘 first. — Where are we along the path to SDVs & beyond 🤷? 👉 A classification should be driven by customer benefits, not technology or product: 🔘 Non-connected but SW enabled cars 🚘: Think about the experience from 20 to 25 years ago. 🔘 Connected vehicles: Think about the vehicles that came to market around 10 years ago. 🔘 Smart cars: We see this type of vehicles 🚗 since ~5 years, like modern EVs and ICEs from traditional OEMs in the U.S. 🇺🇸, South Korea 🇰🇷, Europe 🇪🇺, Japan 🇯🇵. Buzz words are OTA, App stores, digital services 🤑. 🔘 SDVs: Modern vehicle portfolios by Nio, Tesla, Rivian, XPeng or Huawei. HW and SW is separated, customers are overwhelmed with digital cockpits and ADAS features. 🔘 Immersive SDVs on the horizon: Brands like Jiyue, Nio or Xiaomi Technology aim to bring the SDVs to a next level with integration of smart devices and life spheres in one ecosystem, new and multi sensory experiences. 👉 Homework 📚 needs to be done 🚨: 🔘 Keep in mind that just 27 to 38% of the global car park is connected as of today according to Strategy&. 🔘 Legacy OEMs like Kia Worldwide want to bring basic connectivity to 33 more countries until 2026, OTA enabled vehicles should increase by 13: https://lnkd.in/dtH_AHiw 👉 Getting ready for SDVs is a long way: 🔘 Let’s keep in mind 🚨, there will never be a binary shift to SDVs. Cars have a slow turnaround, so shift might be significantly slower than the shift to smartphones 🤳. 🔘 OEMs shifting per model. Existing platforms and related models might stick around for the next 10 to 15 years. 🔘 Legacy OEMs launch their first SDVs by the end of the decade. The Mercedes-Benz AG CLA and BMW Groups Neue Klasse are the first ones. Stellantis, Hyundai Motor Company (현대자동차), Volkswagen or Renault to follow. 👉 An OEM needs to change everything, starting from formation of a SDV ready organization, technology, decision making, budgeting, customer interactions, business models 💰. — ➡️ If you want to exchange with experts regarding your SDV strategy, technology decisions, business models, or implementation, let me know. #SDV #mobility #automotive
