One of the more fascinating things that I've recently discovered about how AI is being used in the search to get rich quickly is how ready people are to embrace questionable science (and others' willingness to turn a blind eye). For example, AI that can: -accurately recognize faces (except that it only works well on light skin) - tell a person's personality by their facial expression - tell a person's ability to do a job by how they play a completely unrelated game - tell from someone's face if they are likely to be a criminal All without real science behind a lot of it. We really need to be better. Real people are getting harmed. At the very least, we must never look away. Always critically assess whether it's really realistic that it can do what it has promised. And if we decide to believe it, always double-check! #ailiteracy #awarenessmatters #thefutureisnow
Second time that you have made this claim: “All without real science behind a lot of it.” For at least, “- tell a person's personality by their facial expression” There IS real science behind it.
