AI can be a game-changer for recombining existing technologies and processing vast amounts of data, but it's not a magic bullet for radical innovation. 💡Companies that use AI to streamline and enhance existing processes often see benefits, but those aiming for breakthrough ideas might find it less useful. It’s a solid reminder that how we use AI, rather than the tool itself, determines its impact. 🚀 #AI #Innovation #TechTrends #BusinessStrategy https://lnkd.in/e5zTUDrC

Any business that wants to stay future-focused needs to embrace digital transformation. But does AI need to be part of that transformation? And does AI always lead to innovation? The short answer is this: No, AI doesn't always lead to innovation. But, it can. And when used properly, it will. So investing in AI is a good idea for most businesses, but you need to make sure you're ready to use AI in the ways that actually count. "Overall, our investigations suggest that firms that have historically focused on specific types of innovation — process innovation and innovation by diverse recombination, in which companies combine a wide variety of technology elements in new ways — may benefit most from using advanced data capabilities of machine learning and AI," write Lynn Wu and Sam Ransbotham. #AI #BusinessInnovation #DigitalTransformation

The main reason why business leaders are so intent on adopting AI is because of the belief that AI can help drive innovation. But is this belief based in reality? Lynn Wu and Sam Ransbotham say that AI can drive innovation... IF you're using it properly. Success all depends on how businesses are actually utilizing AI. For example, "Firms that use AI analytics to generate wide recombinations are 3 to 7% more productive than firms that do not. Furthermore, when a firm’s existing knowledge is spread throughout the firm, advanced AI capabilities can further boost firm innovation by about three more new patents a year." I'd love to hear how you're using AI in your company and if you've seen a major improvement in overall innovation. #AI #BusinessInnovation #BusinessTransformation

When considering the recent AI hype, it's important that we don't get too ahead of ourselves. Can AI help drive innovation? Of course. But DOES it always drive innovation? Not necessarily. In the end, AI is a tool like any other. If you had a hammer, but didn't know how to use it, it's not going to be much help, is it? AI functions the same way. You have to be strategic, intentional, and responsible if you're going to integrate it into business processes. If your business values innovation and strategic decision-making outside of AI, it's much more likely to make the most of it. Recent studies "suggest that firms that have historically focused on specific types of innovation — process innovation and innovation by diverse recombination, in which companies combine a wide variety of technology elements in new ways — may benefit most from using advanced data capabilities of machine learning and AI," reports Lynn Wu and Sam Ransbotham. #AI #AIIntegration #DigitalTransformation

Firms that have historically focused on specific types of innovation — process innovation and innovation by diverse recombination, in which companies combine a wide variety of technology elements in new ways — may benefit most from using advanced data capabilities of machine learning and AI. Conversely, using AI is less helpful for incremental innovation and making small improvements to existing products, and is almost no help at all for radical innovation. #ai #analytics #innovation
