Best credit card for groceries? In a recent YouTuber ranking of the best credit cards for groceries (see comments) the AAA Daily Advantage Visa Signature Card from Bread Financial with 5% cash back on groceries and no annual fee came in at #2. It was pipped to the post by Amex Blue Cash Preferred, which offers 6% back on groceries, but that card has a $95 annual fee. Marketing for the AAA card has jumped ⬆ recently, particularly on Paid Facebook and Instagram. 🎯 AAA members (although you don't have to be a member to apply) -5% cash back at grocery stores -3% back on gas, EV charging, wholesale clubs, streaming, pharmacy, AAA purchases -1% back on other purchases -$100 statement credit when you spend $1K in 90 days -No annual fee -No foreign transaction fees 💡Escalation in grocery costs. Inflation is coming down but consumers are still feeling the pain. The average annual cost of groceries per household has increased by 27% over the past six years. This rise in costs has been particularly burdensome for low-income families, who spend nearly a third of their income on food, compared to just 8% for wealthier consumers. 💡💡Time to shine. Consumers are looking for ways to alleviate the pressure from escalating grocery costs with many changing their behavior to find lower prices. It's time for credit cards with a market-leading position on groceries to shine by stepping up and getting their message out. AAA is ramping up its grocery-focused marketing at a time when it can really help its members. #marketing #advertising #socialmediamarketing #directmarketing #grocery #inflation

In a recent engagement, we explored how people pay for their groceries. It turns out most shoppers don't like using their credit cards in supermarkets. Only one-third of purchases are made using one. There is one big exception, however: Credit card points. In a PYMNTS study, 2 in 3 consumers reported rewards as the main reason to use credit cards for grocery shopping. This increases to 4 in 5 for people who don't live paycheck to paycheck.

Many of the top 10 merchants that Sezzle Anywhere subscribers spend at are grocery stores. It's not surprising that where #BNPL users spend their $$ is similar to that of credit cards, especially in this economy. Keep the receipts - I bet that substantially more than 6.5% of Americans are using BNPL for groceries come the next PYMNTS report.
Despite only 6.5% of the U.S. population currently using Buy Now, Pay Later for groceries, Sezzle is determined to shift the narrative. Our attendance at the National Grocers Association show, where we will be engaging with industry leaders and innovators, reinforces our commitment to increasing BNPL usage in the grocery industry. At Sezzle, we see a future where every shopper has the option to choose the flexibility and convenience of BNPL when stocking their pantry or picking up essentials. Together, let's empower more individuals to embrace the benefits of BNPL and enjoy stress-free grocery shopping. #SEZL
