With so much noise about Giving Tuesday (and I'm sure the results from giving yesterday will be significant) and the upcoming year-end giving push, there's something else going on that nonprofits need to be thinking about. In fact, I think this is WAY more important for the long-term growth and success of charities. But very few are focused on this. What I'm talking about is activating new major gifts and inspiring disengaged major gift supporters to step up and renew their giving. We're doing this for many of our partners and seeing GREAT results. Major Gift Activation campaigns focus on engaging the right audiences with a compelling case for support in a unique way to inspire transformational giving. In many cases, we're activating a giver's first-ever $10K+ gift (sometimes up to $100K, or even $560K, which is the largest gift I've ever seen come in response to one of these campaigns). These text threads are from two of my clients that are running campaigns like this right now. You’re absolutely right, while Giving Tuesday and year-end giving are important, activating and re-engaging major gift supporters can have a transformational impact on a nonprofit’s long-term success.
