Your medical degree is worth nothing. If you can’t communicate. Give the talk. Write the article. Explain it in a different way to a patient. Ask the extra question.
Attention grabbing; profound and gut wrenching (first line) assertion. Brilliant to have that first sentence with spaces behind it, forcing any physician with a little spare time to click further. The later lines do remind me of an Einstein quote. “Try not to strive for success, but to be of value.” But we physicians need to continue to fight the commoditization of our “product“ / (expertise). As many feel their worth is being chiseled away, they are leaving bedside medicine at an alarming rate. I hope and pray, though, that however much AI or midlevel presence there is, nothing can or will replace the well trained, conscientious, experienced physician.

C’mon, you can’t just say a medical degree is worth nothing!!! That’s like calling a Ferrari useless without gas. Sure, it’s a powerhouse, but communication is the fuel that makes it go. If you can’t show it, share it, or explain it, all that brilliance stays parked in the garage (Matthew Ray Scott, I borrowed your analogy).
