Andre Andrade’s Post

#TBT to 1999! I was one of two fast-track individuals selected to attend the ITU Telecom 99 Trade Show in Geneva, representing Tess at the Telia booth. We spent nearly three weeks immersed in training and hard work, connecting with colleagues from Telia's global operations. It was a fantastic experience—lots of fun! At Telecom 99, we were showcasing the future with WAP technology (the most rudimentary from of mobile browsing) 😊

I was there too! The launch of a company called ZED, which was hours before still called RED, which had to be changed due to FT using ORANGE and some other colors as a trademark. Those were the days.

WAP is like talking on how the Flintstones connected to internet, yet it was a revolution back then just 25 years ago. Great you have been part of the amazing Telco industry since then, 🎉 congratulations 👏

WAP, wow! A technology dominated by OpenWave who had more SW browsers installed than Windows and they couldn;t manage to monetize it enough to keep the company alive :(
