Just coming off a morning training meeting and was thinking about adult learners and what is needed to ensure content is understood and is actionable. Repetition! When it comes to training adults on new ideas and concepts, repetition is key. Research shows that adults often need to hear or practice a new concept multiple times before it sticks. This isn’t just about memorization—it’s about reinforcement. Repeating key ideas in different ways, whether through discussions, hands-on practice, or real-world application, helps solidify understanding and leads to long-term retention. #AdultLearning #TrainingAndDevelopment #ContinuousImprovement #LearningAndDevelopment #Reinforcement #AlgoSecTogether #GrowYourself

Dear “Weird-Curious” PD Facilitators, Why settle for routine when weird makes for lasting learning, learning you can live out loud? Routine is safe, but safe doesn’t stick. It’s easy to forget the mundane, to check out mentally when something feels like more of the same. But when we make things weird—when we push past the expected and into something engaging, something that taps into curiosity and emotion—that’s when the real magic happens. That’s the kind of learning that stays with you, that you can’t help but talk about with your colleagues, your students, or even at home. It’s learning that you don’t just memorize—you live it, you breathe it, you can’t wait to try it out. The thing is, weird breaks the mold. It gives you permission to play with ideas, experiment, and make mistakes. And when we create that space in PD, it translates into schools and classrooms where creativity thrives, where educators are energized, and where learning becomes a shared adventure. So why settle for routine when we can create something that sparks lasting change? Let’s make learning something we live out loud. Warmly, Dr. Tim #MakeItWeird #PLCsButTheOnlyAgendaItemIsToDoSomethingTheTeamReallyWantsToDo #PBISButNoStore #SelfCareButNoOneHasToDoTheBreathingExercisesIfTheyDontWantTo #BringPlayDohButNotForAnyReasonExceptToPlay #YouCanDoALotWithAPackOfEmojiStickers

✍️ Part 2: The Power of Marking and Feedback in Education!📝 Creating Inclusive Learning through Modified Marking and Feedback Policies! 📚 A modified marking and feedback policy can transform the learning experience for all students, ensuring no one is left behind. What you write/stamp in their book is 💯% important! Teachers should mark for students' support and not for observers during a lesson or to create impressions for book scrutinies. 🌟School administrators and other observers will be able to work out if effective feedback is being given by asking students: ✅What are you doing well in this subject/topic? ✅What do you need to do to improve your work in this subject/topic? Have you built an an inclusive, supportive school culture through marking and feedback❓ How do you ensure that teachers aren't burnt out through expectations of marking and giving feedback on every single piece of work in all subjects❓ This is my version of a modified marking and feedback policy in a nutshell. Follow this tip👇 to make every student feel valued and capable of success! Let's support teachers by providing marking and feedback guidelines that are reasonable!💡✨ #InclusiveEducation #FeedbackMatters #TeachingTips #PrimaryEducation #DiversityAndInclusion #StudentSuccess #EducationalLeadership

2moSo true. Hands-on practice really seems to be the trick. Sending out eLearning a few weeks later or reminder emails on what we learned doesn't cut it anymore. Practice + highlighting successes of those new behaviors in real situations
