Last week, I had the pleasure to discuss the results of our report "Re-inventing #Pharma with #AI" with my colleague Johannes Dizinger in PwC Deutschland's 🎬 #Webcast series "GenAI - What decision makers need to know". We explored with which use cases Pharma companies will capture the $250bn value potential that we expect for the industry in 2030 in additional profits from adopting AI. AI continues to revolutionize healthcare! For the fourth consecutive year, AI has been ranked and recognized as the most groundbreaking new technology, according to a survey of executives by the Center for Connected Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Industry leaders have highlighted its remarkable advancements, which are driving significant improvements across the sector, from enhancing diagnostics to streamlining research and treatment. 85% of survey respondents believe that AI should top the list, reflecting the idea that technology has “significant potential” to improve administration, operations, and clinical care – and I completely agree! As technology continues to evolve, it’s critical that leaders effectively understand and decode AI and its role in our sector. 🚨 New Publication: Telemonitoring in Heart Failure Care: Feasibility =/≠ Clinical Benefit? 💡 A new study on self-measurement telemonitoring in heart failure patients was just published, and it’s raising some important questions! 📊 The SELPH multicenter pilot study shows impressive feasibility, with high patient compliance, suggesting telemonitoring could be a game-changer in heart failure management. 📱❤️ But here’s the catch: Does feasibility really equal clinical benefit? 🤔 While collecting and transmitting data remotely is promising, early detection of changes in heart rate and blood pressure doesn’t necessarily mean fewer hospitalizations or improved outcomes. 🚑 More research is needed to see if these early alerts translate into real-world benefits.
