Perusing April's draft National Resilience Guidance from FEMA, I wanted to highlight a handy resource included within the document. That resource is the Resilience Maturity Model. The Model, as you will see, illustrates stages in the evolution of a community’s approach to resilience. For the last couple of months, following widespread discussions, I have been working on a paper to look at what is needed to hardwire preparedness and resilience into the government machine and political thinking. This has now been published by National Preparedness Commission as “Making It Happen: encouraging government action on preparedness and resilience”.
