"Deceit, Dread, and Disbelief: The Story of How Ukraine Lost Its Nuclear Arsenal Never-before-released archival files reveal Washington’s error in cudgeling Ukraine to give up its nuclear weapons despite the risk of a Russian invasion." by George Bogden October 27, 2023 A very insightful piece, with lots of evidence of deeply disappointing actions for a Ukrainian like me, as well as somewhat surprisingly assuaging facts (you will guess who gets the disappointment and who the assuaging part). Thank you, George E. Bogden, J.D., D.Phil., for this extensive and important research and publication. And thank you, Christopher J O'Shea, for the recommendation! Full piece by the link below. I strongly recommend reading it in full (note, there are four pages there). U.S. Department of State U.S. House of Representatives United States Senate

Indeed, all this was a massive mistake. Nuclear weapons is the only way to maintain independence and sovereignity in contemporary world. There are good reasons why even the former commander of United States armed forces Rt. Lt. gen Ben Hodges started talking about the importance for Germany, and potentially a few other countries further east to obtain nuclear weapons.
